Appointments, Promotions, and Transfers of Officers on Active Service with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, and transfers of the undermentioned officers on active service with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, vide List No. 87, N.Z.E.F. Orders.

COMMANDS AND STAFF.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Brigadier-General) G. S. Richardson, C.B., C.M.G., C.B.E., p.s.c., g., N.Z.S.C., has returned to New Zealand for special duty. Dated 17th March, 1919.

N.Z. FIELD ARTILLERY.

2nd Lieutenant W. C. Howard to be Lieutenant, under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 13. Dated 25th March, 1919.

N.Z. ENGINEERS.

Field Companies.

Lieutenant H. S. King, discharged in England, is struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F. Dated 14th February, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant E. W. George, M.C., to be Lieutenant, under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 13. Dated 21st March, 1919.

Signal Services.

Lieutenant L. Moritzson, M.C., M.M., is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst holding the appointment of Adjutant, transport s.s. “Tainui.” Dated 11th March, 1919.

AUCKLAND REGIMENT.

Lieutenant C. L. Nicholls, 5th (Royal Irish) Lancers, rejoining the British Army, is struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F. Dated 17th February, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant F. V. Barrat, discharged in England, is struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F. Dated 19th March, 1919.

Major C. A. Herman, returning to New Zealand for demobilization, relinquishes the appointment of A.P.M., N.Z. Division. Dated 25th March, 1919.

Captain E. V. Daldy is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst holding the appointment of O.C., Reception Camp, “A” Group, Larkhill. Dated 25th January, 1919.

The undermentioned are granted the temporary rank of Captain:—

Lieutenant E. J. F. Fraser, Company Commander, Auckland Detachment, “A” Group, N.Z.E.F., Sling. Dated 1st January, 1919.

Lieutenant A. V. Peace, Company Commander, Auckland Detachment, “A” Group, N.Z.E.F., Sling. Dated 1st January, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant R. S. Alford, whilst holding the appointment of Company Commander, Isolation Camp, “A” Group, Larkhill. Dated 12th February, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant S. O. Clark, M.C., whilst holding the appointment of Company Commander, Isolation Camp, “A” Group, Larkhill. Dated 12th February, 1919.

Lieutenant L. S. Ashton, whilst Second in Command, Reception Camp, “A” Group, Larkhill, to date 25th January, 1919, and relinquishes the temporary rank on ceasing to be so employed. Dated 17th February, 1919.

CANTERBURY REGIMENT.

The undermentioned, discharged in England, are struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F.:—

Lieutenant E. T. Stout, Company Commander, Canterbury Detachment, “A” Group, N.Z.E.F., Sling. Dated 1st January, 1919.

Lieutenant R. P. Kay, whilst performing the duties of Company Commander, Canterbury Detachment, “A”

Group, N.Z.E.F., Sling, to date 4th January, 1919, and relinquishes the temporary rank on ceasing to be so employed. Dated 1st March, 1919.

Lieutenant H. A. Perkins, M.M., whilst holding the appointment of Quartermaster, Reception Camp, “A” Group, Larkhill, to date 20th January, 1919, and relinquishes the temporary rank on ceasing to hold the appointment. Dated 17th February, 1919.

Lieutenant H. A. Perkins, M.M., whilst performing the duties of Company Commander, Canterbury Detachment, “A” Group, N.Z.E.F., Sling, vice Lieutenant R. P. Kay, relinquished the appointment. Dated 1st March, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant R. C. Fenemor, whilst performing the duties of Company Commander, Reception Camp, “A” Group, Larkhill, to date 25th January, 1919, and relinquishes the temporary rank on ceasing to be so employed. Dated 17th February, 1919.

Lieutenant J. F. O’Leary, Company Commander, Isolation Camp, 4th N.Z. Infantry (Reserve) Brigade. Dated 3rd December, 1918.

OTAGO REGIMENT.

Lieutenant C. McL. Bathgate ceases to be seconded for special service. Dated 12th January, 1919.

Captain J. L. Scoullar, returning to New Zealand for demobilization, relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, Otago Detachment, “A” Group, N.Z.E.F., Sling. Dated 24th March, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant G. F. Brinsley to be Adjutant, Otago Detachment, “A” Group, N.Z.E.F., Sling, vice Captain J. L. Scoullar, returning to New Zealand for demobilization, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 24th March, 1919.

Lieutenant A. H. H. Lewis performed the duties of Adjutant, 4th (Reserve) Battalion, from 19th December, 1917, to 28th December, 1917, inclusive, and from 28th February, 1918, to 6th March, 1918, inclusive.

2nd Lieutenant F. McIvor to be Lieutenant, under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 13. Dated 25th March, 1919.

Major W. G. A. Bishop, M.C., is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, vice Lieutenant-Colonel A. B. Charters, C.M.G., D.S.O., returning to New Zealand for demobilization. Dated 28th December, 1918.

The undermentioned are granted the temporary rank of Captain:—

Lieutenant K. J. McKenzie, Quartermaster, 2nd Battalion. Dated 1st January, 1919.

Lieutenant A. H. H. Lewis, vice Major G. H. Ferguson, acting as Second in Command, Battalion. Dated 27th December, 1918.

Lieutenant A. E. Inkster, vice Captain (temp. Major) C. M. Littlejohn, returning to New Zealand for demobilization. Dated 29th December, 1918.

Lieutenant L. W. Bassett, M.C., vice Lieutenant (temp. Captain) R. D. Douglass, M.C., returning to New Zealand for demobilization, to date 15th January, 1919, and relinquishes the temporary rank on proceeding to England. Dated 4th February, 1919.

Lieutenant S. J. Gilman, vice Captain C. F. W. Rasmussen, returning to New Zealand for demobilization, to date 4th February, 1919, and relinquishes the temporary rank on reorganization due to demobilization. Dated 28th February, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant T. H. Sissons, whilst holding the appointment of Quartermaster, No. 4 Camp, “A” Group, Larkhill, to date 25th January, 1919, and retains the temporary rank of Captain whilst holding the appointment of Quartermaster, Reception Camp, “A” Group, Larkhill. Dated 17th February, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant F. Moore, whilst performing the duties of a Company Commander, Reception Camp, “A” Group, Larkhill, to date 25th January, 1919, and relinquishes the temporary rank on ceasing to be so employed. Dated 17th February, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant T. H. Melrose, whilst acting as a Company Officer, “B” Group, N.Z.E.F., Codford. Dated 1st February, 1919.

Lieutenant R. S. Halliwell, M.C., whilst performing the duties of a Company Commander, Reception Camp, “A” Group, Larkhill. Dated 3rd March, 1919.

WELLINGTON REGIMENT.

5/627, S.S.M. T. W. Slingsby to be 2nd Lieutenant, supernumerary to Establishment. Dated 14th February, 1919.

12716, Bombardier G. W. Wilson, retransferred from the Royal Air Force, is taken on the strength of the N.Z.E.F. in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 27th January, 1919.
