Declaring Rangiriri (or Karaka) Lake, Waikato, and certain
Railway Reserves to be a Sanctuary for Imported and Native
Game.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare the Rangiriri
(or Karaka) Lake, Waikato, and the railway reserve on both
sides of the line from Te Kauwhata to Rangiriri Stations
and the Te Kauwhata and Rangiriri Station Yard Reserves
to be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Animals Pro-
tection Act, and that no imported or native game shall be
taken or killed on the said lake and the said reserves.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this twenty-fourth day of June, one
thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Amending Regulations for the Military Forces of New Zealand
re Enlistments into the Royal New Zealand Artillery.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority
conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its
amendments, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby amend, in the manner and to the extent set forth
in the Schedule hereto, the regulations for the New Zealand
Military Forces made on the twenty-second day of December,
one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and published in
the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-seventh day of
January, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen; and I
do hereby declare that such amendment shall take effect as
from the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE.
SECTION IV.

Royal New Zealand Artillery.—Qualifications for Enrolment.
PARAGRAPH 141, as amended by New Zealand Gazettes dated
25th July, 1918, and 9th January, 1919, is hereby revoked,
and the following substituted:—

  1. Applicants for enlistment must be between the ages
    of eighteen and twenty-five years, be unmarried, and have
    passed the Fourth Standard of education, or its equivalent,
    and will be required to pass a medical examination in accord-
    ance with Appendix I of these regulations.

In special cases, as set out hereunder, the above conditions
may be relaxed in the interests of the service, and, subject
to the approval of the General Officer in Charge Administra-
tion, the following may be accepted for enrolment:—

(a.) Men who have attained the age of seventeen years and
six months, and are specially recommended by the
Officer Commanding Regiment, Royal New Zealand
Artillery.

(b.) Ex-soldiers of the Regular Forces, Royal New Zealand
Artillery, and Foreign Service Branch of the New
Zealand Expeditionary Force, whose ages exceed
twenty-five years, and who are married.

No relaxation of the physical standard will be allowed,
and no candidates showing other than good physical develop-
ment will be considered for enrolment.

General, this twenty-first day of June, one thou-
sand nine hundred and nineteen, in the presence

Approving Additional By-laws made by the Castlecliff Railway
Company (Limited) in respect of the Gonville-Castlecliff
Railway.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section ninety-three of the District Railways Act, 1908,
I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby approve
the additional by-laws set forth in the Schedule hereto, made
by the Castlecliff Railway Company (Limited) in respect
of the Gonville-Castlecliff Railway.

SCHEDULE.

ADDITIONAL by-laws of the Castlecliff Railway Company
(Limited) made in pursuance of the powers and provisions
contained in the District Railways Act, 1908, and in pur-
suance of all and every other powers and provisions con-
tained or implied in any statute enabling the company in
that behalf. These additional by-laws are to be read with
and to form part of the by-laws of the said company pub-
lished in the New Zealand Gazette No. 35 of 1905, at page 950.

PART III.

  1. Subject to the other provisions of these by-laws, and
    in the absence of special arrangement with the company, the
    following schedule of rates shall, on and after the 19th day
    of February, 1919, be the schedule of rates for and in
    connection with the carriage by the railway of animals, pro-
    duce, merchandise, goods, chattels, and things.

Carriage.

The following rates are subject as aforesaid for carriage
from Wanganui to Castlecliff or to any intermediate station,
or vice versa:—
