Lands temporarily reserved in the North Auckland, Auckland, Marlborough, and Westland Land Districts.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

And whereas by the sixty-ninth section of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, it is further provided that the Governor-General may from time to time, as he thinks fit, set aside reserves for any specified public purpose out of land acquired under the last-mentioned Act, provided that no land so acquired shall be set aside for endowments:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Acts, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the North Auckland, Auckland, Marlborough, and Westland Land Districts described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 15 perches, more or less, and being Sections 15 and 16, Block IX, Town of Russell. Bounded towards the north by Sections 6 and 12, Block IX aforesaid, 131·6 links; towards the east by Section 14, Block IX aforesaid, 75·1 links; towards the south by Greenway Street, 126·4 links; and towards the west by The Strand, 68·6 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/146, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (North Auckland plan 5602.) For recreation purposes.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 3 roods 14 perches, more or less, being Section 3A, Block XIV, Pakaumanu Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by a public road, 286 and 545 links; towards the east and south by Section 1, Block XIV aforesaid, 431·5 and 346·7 links respectively; towards the south-east and west by a road reserve along the Mokau River, 389·2 and 552·9 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/205, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged purple. (Auckland plan No. 17410.) For a site for a public school.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.

All that land in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Section 2, Town of Wairau Valley. Bounded towards the north-east by Morse Street, 120·4 links; towards the south-east by Section 1 in the said town, 415·3 links; towards the south-west by Section 10, Block IV, Mount Olympus Survey District, 120·4 links; and towards the north-west by Section 3 in the said town, 415·3 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/2495, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. For a site for a public hall.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being Reserve 1488, Block II, Ahaura Survey District. Commencing at a point on the north-easterly side of the Ahaura–Kopara Road, and proceeding in a north-easterly direction, 750 links; thence in a north-westerly direction, 400 links; thence in a south-westerly direction, 750 links; and thence in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern boundary of the said road, 400 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/203, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. For a site for a public school.

Declaring a Road-line through Land in Ngahinapouri Settlement, Auckland Land District, to be closed.

WHEREAS a report has been received from the Surveyor-General from which it appears that the road described in the Schedule hereto is unformed and unused, and that the said road intersects land acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and is not suitable to the subdivision of such land:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of section eighty of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anyway enabling me in this behalf, do by this notice hereby close the road hereinafter described; and I do hereby declare that the said road shall thereupon become subject to the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

NGAHINAPOURI SETTLEMENT.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road required to be closed: 3 acres 2 roods 7 perches.

Adjoining Sections 252, 253, 254, and 263, Tuhikarama Parish, Block XII, Alexandra Survey District.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/141, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green. (Auckland plan No. 20424, blue.)

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this thirteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Amending the Conditions of Control in respect to an Historic Reserve in Hawera Survey District, Taranaki Land District.

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, and published in the Gazette of the 15th day of that month, the control of parts of subdivision 1 of part Section 143, Patea District, Block VI, Hawera Survey District, a reserve for historic purposes, was vested in the Hawera Borough Council, in pursuance of section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908:

And whereas it is desirable that clause one of the conditions contained in the said Warrant should be revoked, and that an additional clause should be added thereto:
