Section 31, Block VIII: Area, 486 acres 3 roods; capital value, £540; instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £27; half-yearly rent on lease, £12 3s.
Altitude, 200 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. About 50 acres swamp, balance undulating to hilly land, covered with fern and scrub, with some grass scattered through the scrub; there are a few small clumps of forest of no commercial value, but useful for fencing. Clay soil of fair quality, on clay subsoil; fairly watered by small streams, springs, and swamp. Distant about three miles from Maromaku Railway-station by formed dray-road to within about half a mile of section, thence unformed as yet.
Section 32, Block VIII: Area, 390 acres; capital value, £590; instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £29 10s.; half-yearly rent on lease, £13 5s. 6d.
Altitude, 250 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. About 130 acres swamp, balance flat, undulating, and hilly land, nearly all ploughable, covered with fern and scrub. Soil of variable quality (gum land), on clay subsoil; fairly watered by springs and swamps. Distant about two miles and a half from Maromaku Railway-station, of which about two miles is partly formed cart-road, balance unformed.
Section 33, Block VIII: Area, 135 acres; capital value, £200; instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £10; half-yearly rent on lease, £4 10s
Altitude, 250 ft. to 350 ft. above sea-level. About 36 acres good swamp, balance flat and undulating fern and manuka country, about three-fourths of which is ploughable. Soil of medium quality, on clay subsoil; well watered by springs and small streams. Distant about two miles and a half from Maromaku Railway-station by formed cart-road out of repair in places.

Altitude, 260 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. About 60 acres swamp, balance flat and undulating to broken land, of which a small area is ploughable; covered with fern and scrub. Soil poor quality gum land, on clay subsoil; fairly watered by small streams and springs. Distant about two miles and three-quarters from Maromaku Railway-station, about two miles of which is partly formed cart-road, balance unformed as yet.

Altitude, 260 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken fern and scrub land, with a small quantity of rough feed in bottom of gullies; a small area in scattered portions is ploughable. Soil poor quality gum land, on clay subsoil; indifferently watered by springs and swamp. Distant about two miles and three-quarters from Maromaku Railway-station, about two miles of which is partly formed cart-road, balance unformed.

Section 107, Block V: Area, 167 acres; capital value, £350; instalment on deferred payment (excluding interest), £17 10s.; half-yearly rent on lease, £7 17s. 6d.
Altitude, 250 ft. to 350 ft. above sea-level. About 60 acres good swamp, balance open land, 60 to 70 acres ploughable, with a large quantity of rough feed amongst the scrub and fern. Soil of medium quality, on clay subsoil; fairly watered by springs and swamp. Distant about one mile and a quarter from Maromaku Railway-station by good formed cart-road.

Altitude, 260 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. About 12 acres swamp, balance flat to hilly land, covered with fern and manuka. Soil poor quality gum land; indifferently watered by swamp. Distant about one mile and three-quarters from Maromaku Railway-station by good formed cart-road.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for sale by public auction, for cash or on deferred payments, at the Drill-shed, Culverden, on Thursday, the 3rd day of July, 1919, at 2 o’clock p.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and amendments, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

Culverden is situated in the Amuri County, sixty-nine miles from Christchurch, and is part of the Culverden Estate. The whole of the township is flat, the soil being of a light and shingly nature. Water is obtained by means of wells and pumps.
TERMS OF SALE.
The purchaser may pay for the land in cash or by deferred payments extending over a period of nineteen years. The terms are—
(1.) Cash.—One-fifth of the purchase-money on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with Crown-grant fee (£1), within thirty days thereafter.
(2.) Deferred Payments.—5 per cent. of the purchase-money and license fee (£1 1s.) on the fall of the hammer, balance by equal annual instalments extending over nineteen years, with interest payable half-yearly at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum on the unpaid purchase-money; but with the right to pay off at any time the whole or any part of the outstanding amount.
In either case, if the purchaser fails to make any of the prescribed payments by due date, whether of purchase-money or interest, the amount (if any) already paid shall be forfeited and the contract for the sale of the land be null and void.
Titles will be subject to section 60 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1912.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Commissioners appointed to classify and report upon lands in Southland Land District have classified the pastoral runs in the Schedule hereto as therein noted, and the classification has been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General under section 225 of the Land Act, 1908.
