NOTICE is hereby given that an extraordinary general meeting of the Wairarapa Working-men’s Co-Operative Society (Limited) will be held at Murray’s Hall, Queen Street, Masterton, on Friday, 16th day of May, 1919, at 8 o’clock p.m.

BUSINESS.

To pass the following resolution:—
“ That the society be wound up voluntarily on the ground that it is proved to its satisfaction that the society cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same.”
To appoint a Liquidator if the above proposed resolution is passed.

JOHNSONVILLE TOWN BOARD.

COPY OF RESOLUTION PASSED BY THE JOHNSONVILLE TOWN BOARD AT A MEETING HELD IN BOARD ROOM ON THE 13TH DAY OF MAY, 1919.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Johnsonville Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Johnsonville Town Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purchasing of land in Johnsonville and erecting waterworks thereon, the said Johnsonville Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Johnsonville Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 30th day of May and the 30th day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the thirteenth day of May, 1919, the following entry was made in the minute-book of the company, and signed by upwards of three-fourths of the members holding in the aggregate upwards of three-fourths of the shares in the capital of the company, constituting a special resolution under the Companies Act, 1908:—
It is resolved this thirteenth day of May, 1919, that the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908; and that ALEXANDER SHEPHERD, of Morven, Farmer, the Secretary of the Company, be hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up, and that his fee as such Liquidator be £2 2s.

MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Manawatu County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £700, authorized to be raised by the Manawatu County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing the cost of construction of the lower portion of Pukipuki Road, the said Manawatu County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2/5ths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Lower Pukipuki Special Rating District, comprising Subsections 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Allotments 4 and 5 of Sections 305, 307, and 308, Blocks IX, X, and XIII, Te Kawau Survey District, and part Block III, Sandy Survey District, containing 306 ac. 2 r. 27 p. (D.P. 2854), in the occupation of the Foxton Cordage and Flax-milling Company (Limited). Such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly upon the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off. First year’s interest to be paid out of loan.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Manawatu County Council held at the County Offices, Sanson, on Tuesday, the 6th day of May, 1919.

WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL.

COPY OF RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR A SPECIAL LOAN OF £200 PASSED AT AN ORDINARY MEETING OF COUNCIL HELD 8TH MAY, 1919.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Whakatane County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £200, authorized to be raised by the Whakatane County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for part cost of the erection of the Poroporo Road Bridge and constructing and metalling road approaches to the Poroporo Road Bridge, the said Whakatane County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¼d. in the pound (one farthing in the pound) upon the capital value of all rateable property of the Poroporo Special Rating Area, comprising all the parcel of land within Lots 38A, 38B, 39, and 40, Rangitaiki Parish, Blocks I, II, IV, and V, Whakatane Survey District, Omataroa Riding; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of June and the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Whakatane County Council held on the 8th day of May, 1919.
