Notice of Intention to take Land for Scenic Purposes in Block XI, Kawhia North Survey District.


NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for scenic purposes. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Oparau, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Defining River and Extended-river Limits for Bay of Islands.


IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 139 of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, I, Thomas Mason Wilford, Minister of Marine, do hereby define the Bay of Islands river and extended-river limits within which restricted-limit steamships and ships propelled by gas, oil, fluid, electricity, or any mechanical power other than steam, and to which restricted-limit certificates are issued, may ply to be those set forth herein.

River Limits.—Inside a line starting from the north-easternmost point of the eastern entrance to Rangihoua Bay, from there going to the north-easternmost point of the easternmost of the Black Rocks, thence by a straight line to the northernmost point of Motu Arohia Island, thence by a straight line to the north-western point of Motu Rua Island, thence by a straight line to the north-western point of Motukiekie Island, thence by a straight line to the south-western point of Oruapukapuka Island, thence following the western and southern coast of that island to the point of the island immediately opposite Long Island, thence by a straight line to the south-western point of Richards Peninsula; as the same is shown by red lines on the chart marked M.D. 5043, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.

Extended-river Limits.—Inside a straight line drawn from Cape Wiwiki to Cape Brett.

All previous limits for the Bay of Islands are hereby revoked.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Riccarton, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

RICCARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Riccarton taken on the 30th day of April, 1919, on the proposal of the Riccarton Borough Council to borrow the sum of £1,200 for the purpose of asphalting certain streets in the borough as duly specified, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 75, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 15.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Riccarton taken on the 30th day of April, 1919, on the proposal of the Riccarton Borough Council to borrow the sum of £1,700 for the purpose of asphalting certain streets in the borough as duly specified, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 80, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 33.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
