SUMMARY FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY, 1919.
February, the last summer month, proved the only one in which really summer-like conditions prevailed. Though cloudiness was much in evidence, calm and warm weather ruled. There was a general deficiency in the total rainfall, and several places in the South Island had no rain.
Atmospheric disturbances were, on the whole, few in number and slight in intensity, but one passing north of New Zealand on the 12th and 13th was responsible for stormy conditions and some heavy downpours in the northernmost districts.
