Notifying Lands in Wellington Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the second day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

The Town of Raetihi is situated on main road between Pipiriki and Ohakune, about eight miles from the latter. It is the terminus of a branch railway from Ohakune, and is the centre of an extensive district with which it is connected by roads in all directions.

Most of the sections under offer are flat; soil good. Elevation is about 1,700 ft. above sea-level.

NOTE.—Sections 2, 3, and 20, Block XXI, are offered subject to an easement granted to the Ohakune Borough Council, 15 ft. wide, through them for construction and maintenance of a water fluming or conduit for electric-lighting purposes.

Ohakune Township is situated on the Main Trunk Railway, nearly midway between Auckland and Wellington. The main township, which is over a mile distant from the railway-station, is the outlet of a splendid sawmilling and dairying district. The railway to Raetihi branches off at Ohakune.

Sections 3 and 4, Block VI, comprise open land, with soil of pumice nature on volcanic-grit formation. The other sections for the most part are flat, covered with bush; light soil, partly on clay and partly on grit formation.

Notice of Change of the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Block V, Poerua Survey District, Westland Land District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of an area which was heretofore duly set apart as a resting-place for travelling stock, being a purpose within Class II in the Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient to change, as hereinafter provided, the purpose for which such portion of such reserve was so set apart:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare that the purpose of portion of the said reserve is hereby changed from a resting-place for travelling stock to a site for a rifle range. And I do hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of that section.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 38 acres 3 roods 13 perches, more or less, being Reserve 765 (formerly portion of Reserve 345), Block V, Poerua Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-eastern corner of Reserve 1379, and proceeding along the southern side of the main South Road to the north-western corner of Reserve 340, 382·8 links; thence along the western boundary of said Reserve 340, 1000 links; thence along the southern boundary of the said reserve, 500 links; thence in a southerly direction along the western boundary of Section 162, 3020·8 links; thence in a westerly direction on a bearing of 278° 7′, 1409·1 links; thence in a northerly direction on a bearing of 22° 37′, 3160·5 links, to the south-eastern corner of Reserve 1379; all situated in Block V aforesaid; thence along the eastern boundary of said reserve, 1000 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/11/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Lands temporarily reserved in the North Auckland and Hawke’s Bay Land Districts.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the North Auckland and Hawke’s Bay Land Districts described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 33·99 perches, more or less, being Allotment 435, Parish of Pukeatua. Bounded towards the north-west generally by Allotment 305 of the aforesaid parish, 379 and 803·3 links; towards the east generally by Allotment S.W. 231 of the aforesaid parish, 107·6 and 114·2 links; towards the south-east generally by a public road, 220·8, 164·4, 364·7, and 358·5 links: be all the aforesaid
