Altering Boundaries of Cook and Waikohu Counties.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section
three of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913, that
the boundaries of any one or more counties may be altered
in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration
passed by the Council of each of such counties in which the
principal Act is in force:
And whereas a resolution was passed by the Cook County
Council on the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine
hundred and nineteen:
And whereas a similar resolution was passed by the Wai-
kohu County Council on the thirteenth day of December,
one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, praying for the
alteration of the boundaries of such counties in the manner
described in the said resolutions and in the First Schedule
hereto:
And whereas it is expedient to make such alteration in
accordance with the said resolutions:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority conferred on me by the said Act, as amended
by the Counties Amendment Act, 1915, I, Arthur William de
Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the area described in the First Schedule hereto, now
being part of the County of Cook, shall, as on and from the
first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen,
be deemed to be added to and form part of the County of
Waikohu; and, with the like power and authority, do pro-
claim and declare that the boundaries of the Counties of
Cook and Waikohu respectively shall, as on and from the
aforesaid date, be those set forth under their respective
headings in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA EXCLUDED FROM COOK COUNTY AND INCLUDED IN
WAIKOHU COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, being
Small Grazing run 30 in Blocks I and II, Hangaroa
Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west generally,
commencing at the confluence of the Kawaimango Stream
and Hangaroa River, by the Hangaroa River to Small
Grazing-run 29; thence towards the east by Small Grazing-
run 29 to Waikaremoana Road; thence towards the south
generally by that road and the road forming the north-eastern
boundary of Small Grazing-run 62 to the Kawaimango
Stream, and by that stream to the place of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

WAIKOHU COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District bounded
towards the north-west generally by Opotiki County, as
described in New Zealand Gazette, 1912, page 3042, from the
summit of the Mangapowhatu Mountain to the intersection
of the western boundary of Huiarua No. 3 Block; thence
towards the north-east generally by the Huiarua No. 3 Block
to the Uawa County boundary as described in New Zealand
Statutes, 1918, page 246; thence towards the east by Uawa
County, and again towards the south-east generally by
Cook County hereinafter described to the north-eastern
corner of Section No. 1, Block VIII, Tuahu Survey District;
thence towards the south-west generally by the northern.
boundary of that section, across the Mangatahae Stream, by
Lot 21 of Tahora 2F Section No. 2 Block, by Lots 24 and 23
of Tahora 2c 1 Section No. 3 Block, by Lot No. 18 of Tahora
2F Section No. 2 Block, and a line in continuation of its
western boundary-line to the intersection of a right line
from Puketapu Trig. Station to the summit of Mangapo-
whatu Mountain, and thence by the last-mentioned line to
the place of commencement.

COOK COUNTY.

Commencing at the intersection of the road with the south-
western boundary-line of Small Grazing-run No. 42, Block
XII, Waingaromia Survey District; thence by that boundary-
line to Trig. Station No. 134; thence by Small Grazing-run
No. 45 to the Kaitangata Stream; thence by that stream,
the Hinakiwawahia Stream, the Small Grazing-run No. 44A
to the easternmost corner of that run; thence by the
southern boundary of the said Small Grazing-run No. 44A,
by Waihora 2B Nos. 2 and 1 Blocks to the northernmost
corner of Section 5, Block III, Waimata Survey District;
thence towards the north-west generally by Papakorokoro
Nos. 6 and 4 Blocks to the Mangarueke Stream; thence
by that stream to the easternmost corner of Abirau No. 2G
Block thence by Ahirau Nos. 2G, 2F, 2c, and 2B Blocks
to the Mangataikahu Stream; thence by that stream to
the Waipaoa River thence by a line to and along the
middle of that river to the Pouarua Stream; thence by that
stream to its first crossing of the road which runs up the
valley of the said Pouarua Stream; thence along the middle
of that road to Okahuatiu 1D 2B No. 1 Block thence by
Tangihanga A, Pukupapa B, and Waikohu Blocks, and
Subdivision 1 of Tangihanga No. 1c Block to the north-
eastern boundary of the Ngatapa Settlement; thence by the
north-eastern boundary of that settlement to the northernmost
corner of Section 3, Block X, Waikohu Survey District, in
Ngatapa Settlement; thence by the north-western and
