GUARDIAN, TRUST, AND EXECUTORS COMPANY OF NEW ZEALAND (LIMITED).

I, FRANK HERBERT CARR, Acting Manager of the Guardian, Trust, and Executors Company of New Zealand (Limited), do solemnly and sincerely declare:—

  1. That the liability of the members is limited.
  2. That the capital of the company is £100,000, divided into 20,000 shares of £5 each.
  3. That the number of shares issued is 20,000.
  4. That calls to the amount of three pounds (£3) per share on 2,500 shares and three shillings (3s.) per share on 17,500 shares have been made, under which the sum of £10,125 has been received.
  5. That the amount of all moneys received on account of estates on the 1st day of January last is £227,022 11s. 5d.
  6. That the amount of all moneys paid on account of estates on that day is £219,496 7s.
  7. That the amount of the balances due to estates under administration on that day is £7,526 4s. 5d.
  8. That the liabilities of the company as on the 1st day of January last were £119 5s. 7d.
  9. That the contingent liabilities of the company on deposits on the 1st day of January last were nil.
  10. That the assets of the company on that day were £13,184 0s. 8d.
  11. That the first annual license was issued on the 10th day of March, 1911.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Canterbury, a body corporate incorporated under the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, proposes to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and its amendments, for educational purposes all that piece of land situated in Block XI of the Christchurch Survey District, containing by admeasurement three acres, more or less, being part of Lot 14 on plan deposited in the Lands Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 1069, part of Rural Section 713, and being part of the land included in certificate of title Vol. 297, folio 55, and being the whole of the land more particularly delineated in the plan prepared by F. W. Freeman, Licensed Surveyor, which said parcel of land has a frontage of four chains on Shirley Road.

And notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the land required to be taken, and the names of the owners and occupiers of such land, is deposited at the offices of the Education Board of the District of Canterbury, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch aforesaid, where it lies open for public inspection daily (without fee) during all reasonable hours; and that all persons affected shall, if they have any objection to the taking of such land, set forth in writing such objection, and send such writing, within forty days from the date of the first publication of such notice, being the twenty-sixth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, addressed to the Chairman of the Education Board of the District of Canterbury, at the offices of the Board, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned, JOHN McELDOWNEY, JOSIAS ALEXANDER CHANCELLOR McELDOWNEY, and JACOB McELDOWNEY, at Wellington, in the Dominion of New Zealand, under the style or firm of “McEldowney Bros.,” was on the 31st day of March, 1919, dissolved by mutual consent.

OHURA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION LEVYING SPECIAL RATE ON OTANGIWAI SPECIAL RATING AREA.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Ohura County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of two thousand pounds (£2,000), authorized to be raised by the Ohura County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of metalling for the first time portions of the Matiere-Mirouhuiao Road between Matiere and the Mangakahikatea Road junction, the said Ohura County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths (⅝) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Otangiwai Special Rating Area, the boundaries of the said rating area being as follows,—

Commencing at the south-western corner of Section 17, Block 15, Aria Survey District, and following in an eastern direction the Taupiri Road to the Matiere-Mirouhuiao Road; thence by the Matiere-Mirouhuiao Road to Kokara Street (Matiere Suburbs); thence by Kokara Street to Riro Terrace Street; thence by Riro Terrace Street to Section 16, Block 15, Aria Survey District; thence by the southern and eastern boundaries of Section 16 to Section 10, Block 15, Aria Survey District; thence by the southern and south-eastern
