Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 2nd April, 1919.
THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Taihape, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Taihape taken on the 26th day of March, 1919, on the proposal of the Taihape Borough Council to borrow the sum of £17,000 in connection with constructing and providing street and town improvements, storm-water drainage, &c., the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 124, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 36; the number of informal votes recorded was 2. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Appointment of Customs Examining-place.

I, ARTHUR MIELZINER MYERS, Minister of Customs, in exercise of the powers vested in me for this purpose by the Customs Act, 1913, do hereby appoint the undermentioned shed to be a place for the examination by the Customs of goods subject to the control of the Customs, viz.,—

The brick shed roofed with iron, situated on the breastwork between the Railway Wharf and Ferry Wharf, and known as “J” Shed.

Plant declared to be a Noxious Weed by the Ohura County Council.—Notice No. 1958.

I T is hereby notified for public information that the Ohura County Council has, by special order, declared gorse (Ulex europaeus) to be a noxious weed within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district under its jurisdiction.

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Registrar dissolving a Society.
I, ROBERT EDWARD HAYES, Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the Manawatu Chosen Few Loyal Orange Lodge No. 43 is no longer carrying on its operations and has no assets, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

Result of Land Surveyors’ Examination, March, 1919.

AT the examination of candidates for a surveyor’s license held in March, 1919, under the Surveyors’ Institute and Board of Examiners Act, 1908, and conducted by the Federated Surveyors’ Boards of Australia and New Zealand, four candidates presented themselves in New Zealand.
Two of these candidates succeeded in passing the examination—Mr. J. P. Church, of Auckland, and Mr. H. A. Adams, of Nelson.

Importation from Belgium of Goods partially produced in Enemy Territory.

WITH reference to Order in Council dated 10th April, 1917, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the same date, whereby the importation of goods manufactured or produced in or exported from enemy territory was prohibited, save with the consent of the Minister of Customs, it is hereby notified for general information that the notification dated 6th June, 1917, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 7th June, 1917, is cancelled, and that the Minister of Customs has granted general permission for the importation from Belgium of goods finally manufactured in that country, provided—
(a.) That not more than 5 per cent. of the fair market value of such goods, as estimated in accordance with the provisions of the Customs Act, 1913, with respect to goods liable to ad valorem duty, has its source in enemy territory; and
(b.) That the conditions set out in Gazette notice of 10th August, 1915 (New Zealand Gazette of 12th August, 1915), with respect to the importation of Belgian goods are fully complied with.

BUOYS OFF MINE-FIELD, CAPE FAREWELL.

REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 10 of 1919, re mine-field buoys off Cape Farewell, notice is now given that No. 8 buoy on western side has been taken up and relaid in 78 fathoms sand and mud midway between buoys Nos. 6 and 7.

MARINERS are notified that the mine-field warnings dated the 25th March, 1919, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 3rd instant, are hereby cancelled.

Election of Member of Auckland Land Board.
I, HARRY MAY SKEET, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Auckland Land Board, do hereby notify, in accordance with the provisions of section 41 of the Land Act, 1908, and the regulations made thereunder, that the only person nominated to fill the vacancy occurring on the said Board was Alfred Richard Harris, Esq., of East Tamaki.
I do therefore hereby declare that the said Alfred Richard Harris is duly elected a member of the Auckland Land Board, as from the 3rd day of April, 1919.
