- The following shall be the daily rates of pay for warrant officers, non-commissioned officers, and men of the New Zealand Army Medical Corps:—

The term “married” in Regulations 75, 78, 79, 80, 81, and 82 shall be deemed to include a widower with a dependent child or children.

Warrant officers, N.C.O.s, and men of the New Zealand Permanent Force while actually employed on duty in connection with the military detention of members of the Territorial Force or Senior Cadets, shall draw the following daily allowance:—

The above allowance shall only be drawn during the period prisoners are actually undergoing detention.

Forty badges, each carrying a personal payment of £1, shall be issued annually to the Royal New Zealand Artillery, and shall be distributed regimentally by the O.C. Depot, R.N.Z.A., to those men who best qualify as specialists at the annual examination.

Officers under the rank of Major, warrant officers, N.C.O.s, and men of the New Zealand Permanent Force shall receive a free issue of uniform and equipment, as provided in the Clothing Regulations.

Warrant officers, N.C.O.s, and men on the married establishment who are ordered away from their permanent stations on duty shall receive separation allowance at the rate of 1s. 6d. per diem. Separation allowance shall not be permissible for days on which travelling-allowance, camp allowance, or lodging-allowance is drawn.

(a.) Travelling-allowance at the following rates shall be paid. Such allowance shall include meals and porterage, and shall be paid only on defined absence from residence or headquarters. (Travelling-allowance shall not be drawn while under canvas, or while in receipt of camp allowance, or while with troops who are rationed.)

- (a.) For all journeys where an officer, non-commissioned officer, or man is not obliged to be absent from his headquarters for a full day of twenty-four hours, actual and reasonable expenses shall be paid up to an amount in no case exceeding the full daily rate above authorized for personal expenses on production of a statement giving the details of the nature of such charges. The maximum charge allowed for meals is 2s. 6d. in New Zealand.
(b.) Officers up to and including the rank of Colonel or members of the New Zealand Army Nursing Service travelling by train may claim, in lieu of the ordinary travelling-allowance, an allowance of 17s. 6d. for the day of departure or return, provided they have incurred the cost of a sleeping-berth on the train, a receipt for which must be produced. Such allowance shall cover a period of twenty-four hours from the time of departure or return, or the whole period occupied in travelling if such period is less than twenty-four hours.

Where it is necessary for an officer to proceed direct to sea from his headquarters, an allowance of 5s. for the first night and 2s. 6d. for each subsequent whole day spent at sea shall be payable in lieu of the above rates. This allowance is only paid when travelling on duty singly, and cannot be drawn for voyages taken on transports, troopships, or ships carrying small bodies of troops.

Porterage includes the cost of the employment of a porter to handle luggage at a wharf, hotel, or railway-station, and must be paid for out of the daily allowance.
