SCHEDULE.

AREAS WHEREIN IMPORTED AND NATIVE GAME SHALL NOT BE KILLED.

  1. ALL that area in the County of Waitemata bounded on the north by the Wairau Creek from its mouth to the main road from Devonport to Waiwera; on the west by the said road to its junction with the Sea View Road; on the south by that road to the sea; and on the east by the sea to the point of departure.

  2. All those areas at Waitakerei, Nihotapu, and Huia, in the County of Waitemata, vested in or under the control of the Auckland City Council for the purposes of waterworks, recreation, or the conservation of the native flora and fauna.

  3. Little Barrier Island, Hauturu, Auckland (see New Zealand Gazette No. 104, of the 14th December, 1899, page 2266).

  4. Hen and Chickens Islands.

  5. All that area within a radius of three miles from the General Post-office, Auckland.

  6. The Rangiriri (or Karaka) Lake, Waikato.

  7. St. John’s Lake and area adjacent (see New Zealand Gazette No. 43, of the 2nd May, 1901, page 986).

  8. All that section, containing by admeasurement 141 acres, more or less, being the Hamilton Domain, including the Rotoiti or Hamilton Lake, Borough of Hamilton.

  9. Fresh-water Lake, known as Lake Hakanoa, near Huntly, Waikato, and an area of five chains in width surrounding the said lake.

  10. All that part of the Waihou River between the Waiorongomai Bridge and the Mangaiti Bridge over such river.

  11. Great Barrier Island County.

  12. Auckland Acclimatization Society’s Game Farm at Cambridge.

  13. Area near Te Kuiti (see New Zealand Gazette No. 20, of the 24th February, 1916, page 568).

  14. Certain land at Tuakau, Waikato (see Gazette No. 81, of 10th May, 1917, page 1987).

  15. Certain additional area at Tuakau (Waikato), (see New Zealand Gazette No. 120, of 5th September, 1918, page 3129).

  16. All lands notified or set apart as sanctuaries or reserves for the preservation of imported or native game.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Special Shooting Season for Imported and Native Game, License Fee, &c., Buller Acclimatization District.


LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby exempt from the operation of section twenty-six of the said Act the Buller Acclimatization District, and do notify that the following imported game—viz., hares—may be killed within the said Buller Acclimatization District, comprising the County of Buller (except in the areas mentioned in the Schedule hereto), from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, both days inclusive; and do hereby restrict the number of hares that may be killed by any one person in any one day to twenty. And I do further notify that licenses to kill such imported game within the said district shall be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each; and the Chief Postmaster at Westport is hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses to kill imported game.

And I do further notify that the following native game—viz., grey duck, pukeko, and black swan—may be killed within the above-mentioned district (except in the areas mentioned in the Schedule hereto) from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, both days inclusive; and do hereby restrict the number of such native game that may be killed by any one person in any one day to not more than twenty head in all.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby exempt from the operation of section twenty-six of the said Act the Hobson Acclimatization District, and do hereby notify that the following imported game—viz., cock pheasants, Australian and Californian quail—may be killed within the Hobson Acclimatization District, comprising all that area in the Auckland Land District, commencing on the sea-coast at the north-western corner of Block V, Waipoua Survey District, and bounded by the southern boundaries of Blocks I, II, III, and IV, Waipoua Survey District, to a public road, across that road, and by the western, southern, and south-eastern boundaries of Section 10, Block I, Tutamoe Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section, across a public road, and by the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 5, 6, and 7, Block V, Tutamoe Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of Section 5, Block I, Tutamoe Survey District; thence by the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 5, 4, 3, and 14 of the last-mentioned block, and part of the southern boundary of Section 5, Block II, Tutamoe Survey District, to the intersection of a line running between the north-western corner of Section 3, Block XIII, Punakitere Survey District, and Tutamoe Trig. Station; thence by the last-mentioned line to Tutamoe Trig. Station; thence generally by the northern and north-eastern boundary of Hobson County as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1911, page 3065, to the Otamatea County; thence by the northern boundary of Otamatea County as described in New Zealand Statutes, 1886, page 315, to the main road to Waipou; thence by the western side of that road through Maungaturoto to the Great North Road, and by the western side of that road to the eastern boundary of Otamatea County; thence by the eastern and southern boundaries of Otamatea County, the eastern and southern boundaries of Hobson County, to the sea; thence by the sea to the north-western corner of Block V, Waipoua Survey District, the place of commencement (except in the areas mentioned in the Schedule hereto), from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, both days inclusive; and do hereby restrict the number of cock pheasants that may be killed by any one person in any one day to twelve. And I do further notify that licenses to kill such imported game within the said district shall be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each; and that the Postmasters at Maungaturoto, Paparoa, Pahi, Matakohé, Dargaville, Te Kopuru, Aratapu, Tangiteroria, Tangowahine, Kaihu, Mititai, Raupo, Ruawai, Batley, Hoanga, Mangawhare, Mareretu, Onetoa, Naumai, Otamatea, Rehia, Tutamoe, Wairere, Whakapirau, and Tokatoka are hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses to kill imported game.

And I do further notify that the following native game—viz., grey duck, teal, pukeko, and black swan—may be killed within the above-mentioned district (except in the areas mentioned in the Schedule hereto) from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, both days inclusive; and I do hereby restrict the number of native game that may be killed by any one person in any one day to twenty-five head in all.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Kai Iwi and Kaihu Survey Districts, Hobson County, being the lakes known as Lake Waikere, Lake Taharoa, and Lake Kai Iwi, and the area surrounding the said lakes included within a line running parallel to and forty chains distant from the margins of the said lakes: also the Lighthouse Reserve at Pouto Point (North Kaipara Head), containing 1,026 acres, more or less: also all that area in the Auckland Land District, formerly known as Pouto No. 2E, situated at the north head of Kaipara Harbour, in North Head and Okaka Survey Districts, and containing by admeasurement 3,333 acres, more or less, bounded towards the north by Subdivision 10A of Pouto No. 2E Block from the sea to the north-western boundary of the Crown land on which the lighthouse and signal-station are situated; thence towards the east by the above-mentioned Crown land to Kaipara Harbour; thence towards the south by Kaipara Harbour, and towards the west by the sea to the place of commencement: also all that land in the Auckland Land District, being Subdivision No. 10A of Pouto No. 2E Block, situated in North Head and Okaka Survey Districts, to the north of the
