The Northern Side of Portion of Goa Street, in the City of Wellington, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this eighteenth day of March, 1919.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of a road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor-General in Council:
And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, and clause (b) of subsection one of section thirteen of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions with respect to the building-line as the Governor-General, by Order in Council, thinks fit to impose, and may refer to one or both sides of the road or street:
And whereas the Wellington City Council, the local authority having control of the portion of street described in the Schedule hereto, hereinafter referred to as the said portion of street, has passed the following resolution—viz., “The Wellington City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Wellington, hereby declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the north side of Goa Street, lying between Moxham Avenue and the Town Belt”:
And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved in so far as it refers to the northern side of the said portion of street:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution to the extent hereinbefore mentioned.
SCHEDULE.
THE northern side of all that portion of Goa Street, situated in the Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, situated between Moxham Avenue and the Town Belt. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 45565, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

The Western Side of Portion of Willis Street and the Northern Side of Portion of Aro Street, in the City of Wellington, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of March, 1919.

WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of a road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor-General in Council:

The Council further resolved that section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the portion of Willis Street lying between Palmer Street and Aro Street, nor to the portion of Aro Street to which Town Acres 46 and 48 have a frontage; subject, however, to the building-line being set back thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the streets as far as concerns the portions of streets above defined”:
And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved in so far as it refers to the western and northern sides of the said portions of streets, subject to the condition hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution to the extent hereinbefore mentioned, subject to the condition that no building, or part of a building, shall be erected at any time on the western and northern sides of the said portions of streets within a distance of thirty-three feet of the centre-line of the said portions of streets.
SCHEDULE.
THE western side of the portion of Willis Street, in the Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, situated between Palmer Street and Aro Street.
Also the northern side of portion of Aro Street, in the said land district and city, situated between Willis Street and Ohirō Road. As the said portions of streets are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 44895, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Prohibiting the Importation of Tungsten and its Alloys and Compounds, also Tungsten Ores.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this eighteenth day of March, 1919.

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, as extended by section two of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Amendment Act, 1915, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council, prohibit the importation into New Zealand of any goods the prohibition of the importation of which is in his opinion necessary in the public interest:
And whereas in the opinion of the Governor-General it is necessary in the public interest that the importation of tungsten and its alloys and compounds, also tungsten ores, should be prohibited to the extent and in the manner hereinafter appearing:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, and section two of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Amendment Act, 1915, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit the importation of tungsten and its alloys and compounds, also tungsten ores, into the Dominion of New Zealand save with the consent of the Minister of Customs.
