The endorsement will mention the duration of stay (in this country), and also the date on which the applicant would pass the frontier. Seeing that the Royal Passport Office will require a certain time in which to examine each case submitted to it, it is advisable to recommend those desiring to obtain endorsement to ask for it some time before the date on which they require to make use of it.

Date of Election for Fire-insurance and Local Body Representatives of the Ohakune Fire Board.

PURSUANT to section 18 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, I, George Warren Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, and the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Thursday, the 20th March, 1919, to be the day for the holding of an election of three members of the Ohakune Fire Board by the contributing local authority; and I do further appoint Thursday, the 20th March, 1919, to be the day for the holding of an election of three members of the Ohakune Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies which for the time being are carrying on business within the said Ohakune Fire District.

THE following special order, made by the Hokianga County Council, is published for general information.

HOKIANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order made by a Resolution passed at a Special Meeting held on the 5th Day of September, 1918, and confirmed at a Meeting held on the 10th Day of October, 1918.
In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act, 1908, the Hokianga County Council resolves by way of special order as follows:-

The present division of the County of Hokianga is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be divided into seven ridings, to be called respectively Whangape Riding, Kohukohu Riding, Waihou Riding, Horeke Riding, Taheke Riding, Rawene Riding, and Omapere Riding, which said ridings are respectfully described in the Schedule hereto.

The said Hokianga County Council shall consist of seven members, one member to be elected by each of the said ridings.

The alteration hereby made shall take effect on and after the date of gazetting of this special order.
SCHEDULE.
Whangape Riding.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in the Hokianga County, commencing at the North Head of Whangape Harbour, following the Whangape Harbour and the Awaroa River to its intersection with the south-west boundary of Section 3, Block XIV, Takahue Survey District; thence in a north-easterly direction by the Mongonui County boundary to the southern angle in the northern boundary of the State forest reserve in Block XVI, Takahue Survey District, on the east by a right line drawn at a right angle to the said northern boundary of the aforesaid State forest reserve to a point in the northern boundary of Section 16, Block I, Whangape Survey District; thence towards the north by the northern boundary of Section 16 aforesaid, and that boundary produced across the Mangonuiowae River; towards the east by Sections 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21, Block I, Whangape Survey District, and western boundary-line of Section 21 aforesaid produced across a public road, by the said public road and Section 25 of said Block I, by that boundary produced across the Pahikokuri River and a public road forming the northern boundary of Section 38, Block I, aforesaid, and by said Section 38, by Sections 1, 2, and 3, Block V, Whangape Survey District, by Section 14, Block V, Mangamuka Survey District, across a public road, and by Section 11 of said Block V, by Sections 23 and 22, Block IV, Whangape Survey District, by Section 13, Block V, Mangamuka Survey District, by Sections 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25
and the last said section boundary produced to the Tapuwae River; thence towards the south generally by the Tapuwae River aforesaid and the Hokianga River; and towards the west generally by the Tasman Sea to the place of commencement.
Motukaraka Island, situated in Block XIII, Mangamuka Survey District, included in Whangape Riding.
Kohukohu Riding.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in the Hokianga County, commencing at the southern angle in the northern boundary of the State forest reserve in Block XVI, Takahue Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by the Mongonui and Whangaroa Counties boundaries to the easternmost corner of Mangamuka East 1B 3A Block; thence towards the east generally along the south-eastern boundaries of the said block and Mangamuka East 1B 3B, Mangamuka East 1B 2, Mangamuka East 1B 1, and Mangamuka East A to the confluence of the Otukere and Mangamuka Rivers, then across the said Mangamuka River; thence by the eastern and southern boundaries of Mangamuka West 3L Block, and the eastern and southern boundaries of Pautouto Nos. 2A and 2B Blocks; thence by the Mangamuka River to its confluence with the Hokianga River; thence towards the south generally by the said Hokianga River and the Tapuwae River; thence towards the west generally by the Whangape Riding above described to the place of commencement.
Waihou Riding.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in the Hokianga County, commencing at the easternmost corner of Mangamuka East 1B 3A Block. Bounded towards the north generally by the Whangaroa County; towards the east generally by the Bay of Islands County to the south-east corner of Section 12, Block V, Omapere Survey District; towards the south generally by the southern boundaries of Sections 12 and 11, Block V aforesaid, across a public road, and by the eastern and southern boundaries of Whamarangai Block and Te Papa Block and the eastern and southern boundaries cf Utukura 2B Block to the Utukura River, by the Utukura River aforesaid to its confluence with the Waihou River, by the aforesaid Waihou River and the Orira River, and again by the Waihou River aforesaid to the Mangamuka River; thence towards the west generally by the Mangamuka River and the Kohukohu Riding above described to the place of commencement.
Horeke Riding.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in the Hokianga County, commencing at the confluence of the Utukura and Waihou Rivers. Bounded towards the north generally by the Waihou Riding above described; towards the east generally by the Bay of Islands County to the south-east corner of Block XIII, Omapere Survey District; towards the south by the southern boundary of Block XIII aforesaid and the southern boundaries of Blocks XVI and XV, Mangamuka Survey District, and by the Waima River to its confluence with the Hokianga River; and towards the west and north by the Hokianga River aforesaid and the Waihou River to the place of commencement.
Taheke Riding.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, commencing at the intersection of the right bank of the Waima River and the southern boundary of Block XV, Mangamuka Survey District. Bounded towards the north by the Horeke Riding above described; towards the east and south-west generally by the Bay of Islands County boundary to the north-east corner of Section 4, Block XIII, Punakitere Survey District; towards the south generally by Section 4 aforesaid; thence by the south-western and western boundaries of Kohatutaka Block to the southern boundary of Whawharu South 3A Block; thence along the southern boundaries of the said block and of Whawharu South 3B and A No. 1 and the south-western boundary of Waima South F Block to the Ngatahuna Stream; thence by the south-western boundaries of Waima South ELA, Waima E1B, and Waima E1C, and the northern boundaries of Te Aute A No. 6 and A No. 4 Blocks to the Waima River; thence by the Waima River to the place of commencement.
Rawene Riding.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in the Hokianga County, commencing at the north-western corner of Section 45, Block I, Waoku Survey District. Bounded on the west by the Whirinaki River to its confluence with the Hokianga River; thence on the north by the Hokianga River to the mouth of the Omanaia River; thence by high-water mark of said Omanaia River to the mouth of the Mangawhero Stream; thence again by the
