ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of February, 1919.

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section nine of the Mining Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council, appoint fit persons to be Wardens, who shall hold office during the Governor-General’s pleasure:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said section nine of the Mining Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

to be a Warden, to hold and exercise the duties of such office under and subject to the provisions of the said Act, during pleasure, on and from the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Land in Block VI, Hawksbury Survey District, Otago Land District, set apart for a Rifle Range.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the eighty-eighth section of the Defence Act, 1909, it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart any Crown land for permanent training-grounds, or for rifle or artillery practice, or for the erection of drill-sheds or other buildings necessary for military purposes, or for the erection of butts, ranges, and other accommodation for the use of the Defence Forces:
And whereas the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is required for the purpose of a rifle range:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto for a rifle range.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing 24 acres 3 roods 7 perches, more or less, being Section 23A, Block VI, Hawksbury Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west generally by Crown land, 3199·1 and 3651·7 links; towards the north-east by Crown land, 363·6 links; towards the south-east generally by Crown land, 3617·1 and 3164·5 links; and towards the south-west by Crown land, 363·6 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/11/9, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Regulations for Sambur or Ceylon Deer Shooting, Counties of Manawatu, Oroua, Kairanga, and Rangitikei.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN exercise of the powers vested in him by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, doth hereby make the following regulations respecting the Sambur or Ceylon deer shooting season within the Counties of Manawatu, Oroua, Kairanga, and Rangitikei (hereinafter called “the said district”).

REGULATIONS.

  1. Sambur or Ceylon deer may be taken or killed within the said district from the 2nd day of June, 1919, to the 31st day of July, 1919, both days inclusive.
  2. Licenses to kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Wellington, and the Postmasters at Palmerston North, Bull’s, Foxton, and Marton, on payment of a license fee of 20s., in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Acts and these regulations.
  3. No licensee shall be allowed to take or kill more than one stag or buck of not less than six points, and one hind; and, further, the said Chief Postmaster and Postmasters shall not issue more than one license to take or kill deer to the same person.
  4. No licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.
  5. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

, of , having this day paid the sum of £ , is hereby authorized to take or kill Sambur or Ceylon deer (stag or buck, and one hind) within the Counties of Manawatu, Oroua, Kairanga, and Rangitikei, from the 2nd day of June, 1919, to the 31st day of July, 1919 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection Act, 1913, and the amendments thereof, and the regulations made thereunder.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

Miners’ Rights no longer issued at Renwicktown Post-office.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the Mining Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the post-office at

RENWICKTOWN, MARLBOROUGH,

shall no longer be a post-office at which miners’ rights may be issued.

As witness my hand this twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.
