Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces amended.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its amendments, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend, in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule hereto, the Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces made on the eleventh day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourteenth day of March of the same year; and I do hereby declare that the amendment hereby made shall take effect as from the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.
SCHEDULE.
FINANCIAL INSTRUCTIONS AND ALLOWANCE REGULATIONS.
Allowance for Use of Private Motor Vehicles.
PARAGRAPH 140 is hereby revoked and the following substituted :-

MILEAGE. Per Mile.
(a.) Motor bicycles .. .. .. 2½d.
(b.) Motor-cars—
Class “A” car (20 H.P. and upwards; 5-seater) .. .. .. 9d.
Class “B” car (20 H.P. and upwards; 4-seater) .. .. .. 8d.
Class “C” car (10 H.P. and upwards; 2-seater) .. .. .. 6d.
In cases where the tour of duty is over rough and hilly country, or where much stopping and restarting is necessary, payment of allowances at rate and a half may be authorized, vide paragraph 688, “Regulations for the Military Forces of New Zealand, 1913.”

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.
PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

Amendment of the Regulations under the Public Service Act, 1912.
IN pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred on him by the Public Service Act, 1912 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), the Commissioner, with the approval of the Governor-General in Council, doth hereby further amend clause sixty-six of the regulations under the said Act, as made on the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and published in the Gazette of the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and as amended by notice published in the Gazette of the eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto. Such amendment shall have effect on the date of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATION No. 66 is hereby amended by adding the following additional proviso:—
Provided further that officers of the Public Works Department who are engaged as power-house engineers at hydro-electric works shall be required to work on such holidays, and in lieu of leave on such holidays shall be granted nine days additional leave during the year in addition to the annual leave granted under Regulation No. 49.
