MANGAONE RIDING.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Mangaone Riding of the County of Kairanga taken on the 11th day of December, 1919, on the proposal of the Kairanga County Council to borrow the sum of £3,000 for the purpose of treating the Napier Road surface with tar and bitumen, and widening the road so treated to a width of 20 ft., the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 151, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 69, and the number of informal votes was 1.
I therefore declare the proposals were carried.

OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Elstow Special Rating Area of the Ohinemuri County was taken on the 9th day of December, 1919, on the proposal of the Ohinemuri County Council to borrow the sum of £6,000 for the purpose of constructing and metalling roads in the said Elstow Special Rating Area.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 47, and there were no votes recorded against the proposal.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice making and levying Rates under the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910.
I, DAVID HENRY GUTHRIE, Minister of Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, do hereby make and levy upon the unimproved value of all lands liable to be rated pursuant to that Act a rate on a graduated scale as specified in the Schedule hereto according to the classification of the land.
The said rates will be payable in one sum on the 20th day of December, 1919, to the Collector of Rates for the Rangitaiki Land Drainage District, at the Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, 43 High Street, Auckland, at which office the rate-book is open for inspection.
A copy of the rate-book may be inspected by ratepayers at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer at Whakatane at all times at which that office is open for the transaction of public business.
SCHEDULE.
Class A.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the arbitrators appointed under the said Act: Threepence and eighty-four one-hundredths of a penny (3d. and 84/100d.) in the pound.
Class B.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class B by the arbitrators appointed under the said Act: Twopence and twenty one-hundredths of a penny (2d. and 20/100d.) in the pound.
Class C.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class C by the arbitrators appointed under the said Act: Fifty-five one-hundredths of a penny (55/100d.) in the pound.

The said rates will be payable in one sum on the 20th day of December, 1919, to the Collector of Rates for the Hauraki Land Drainage District, at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer, 43 High Street, Auckland.

Class C.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class C by the appraiser appointed under the said Act: Twenty-seven one-hundredths of a penny (27/100d.) in the pound.
