THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Palmerston North - Kairanga River District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

PALMERSTON NORTH - KAIRANGA RIVER BOARD.

Loan Proposal.—Corrected Declaration of Poll taken on 22nd October, 1919.

IN pursuance of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and a poll of the ratepayers taken on the 22nd day of October, 1919, for the purpose of obtaining the consent of the ratepayers to raise a loan of £7,000—viz., for the construction of protective works at Fitzroy Bend and Anderson’s Bend, on the Manawatu River—the voting for the proposal resulted as follows: For the proposal, 113; against the proposal, 94; informal votes, 2.

I therefore declare the proposal rejected.

THE following notice, received from the Deputy Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Balclutha, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF BALCLUTHA.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Balclutha was taken on the 12th day of November, 1919, on the proposal of the Balclutha Borough Council to borrow the sum of £3,000 for the purpose of purchasing site, sinking new bore, constructing reservoirs, and making necessary alterations and additions to existing waterworks plant to provide the borough with an improved water-supply.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 62, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 7; informal, 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
