Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations, New Zealand Forces, amended.— Pay and Allowances.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its amendments, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke certain regulations made under that Act and shown in the Schedule hereto, and do hereby substitute therefor the regulations shown in the said Schedule; and I do hereby declare that such revocation shall take effect and such regulations come into force as from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATIONS 78 to 83 (both inclusive) of the Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations are hereby revoked, and the following substituted in lieu thereof:—
- The following shall be the annual rates of pay for warrant officers and non-commissioned officers of the N.Z. Permanent Staff, also for personnel temporarily attached thereto:—

- The following shall be the daily rates of pay for warrant officers, non-commissioned officers, and men of all units of the N.Z. Permanent Forces and military personnel attached, except as provided in para. 78:—

NOTE.—(1.) Daily pay and service pay are consolidated for superannuation purposes.
(2.) Gunners and drivers (by examination) of the Royal N.Z. Artillery will receive 6d. per diem proficiency pay.
(3.) Non-commissioned officers and men transferred to the N.Z. Military Forces from other Government Departments will be permitted to reckon previous service towards “service pay,” provided that their service is not broken by such transfer.
(4.) Service in the N.Z.E.F. (foreign or home-service branch) does not count for “service pay.”

All increments in pay as applicable to the schedules specified above are entirely dependent upon the recommendations of the responsible officers controlling the various units, and all promotion is contingent upon such recommendation.

The term “married” in Regulations 78 and 79 shall be deemed to include a widower with a dependent child or children.

Except where specially authorized either by the General Officer Commanding or the General Officer in Charge Administration, no allowance will be made for rations or quarters.
