MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

LOUIS DAVID COHEN, M.R.C.S. (Eng. 1913) and
L.R.C.P. (Lond. 1913), now residing in Palmerston
North, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the
13th December next to have my name placed on the Medical
Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have
deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of
the Registrar of Births and Deaths at Wellington.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore
existing between DAVID CAIRNS, of Chertsey, Con-
tractor, and ALFRED CHARLES HULLETT, of Christchurch,
Timber-merchant, carrying on business at Christchurch as
Timber-merchants and Sawmillers, under the style or firm
of "The Phoenix Timber Company," has been dissolved as
from the first day of October, 1919, and that the business
will in future be carried on by the said DAVID CAIRNS.

CHANGE OF NAME.

I, EVAN BOWEN JONES, of Karamu, Labourer, do here-
by give notice that on and after the first day of
September, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, the
surname of THOMPSON will be assumed, taken, and adopted
by me in lieu of the surname of JONES, by which I have been
heretofore called and known; and that at all times here-
after the name of EVAN BOWEN THOMPSON will alone be
used and adopted by me in all proceedings and instruments;
and I further give notice that a duplicate of this notice has
been filed in the Supreme Court Office at Hamilton.

nine hundred and nineteen.

BIRKENHEAD BOROUGH COUNCIL.
INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD PURPOSES.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and its
amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute
a certain public work--to wit, the widening of Mokoia Road
and Glenfield Road in the Borough of Birkenhead; and for
the purpose of such public work the land described in the
Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby
further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is
deposited in the office of the Birkenhead Borough Council at
Birkenhead, in the Provincial District of Auckland, and is
there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by
the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the
said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections
to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of
such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writ-
ing, within forty days of the first publication of this notice,
to the Birkenhead Borough Council at Birkenhead aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land containing 3·3 perches, more or less,
being portion of Lot 1 of subdivision of portion of Allot-
ment 153 of the Parish of Takapuna, situated at the junc-
tion of Glenfield and Mokoia Roads, in the Borough of
Birkenhead.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore
subsisting between us, the undersigned, HERBERT
WAKEMAN and ALEXANDER JOHNSON, heretofore carrying on
business as Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers at No. 105,
Tory Street, in the City of Wellington, under the style of
"Wakeman and Johnson," has been dissolved by mutual
consent as from the 20th day of December, 1918.

All debts due and owing by the said late firm and all debts
owing to the said late firm will be paid and received
respectively by the said ALEXANDER JOHNSON, who will con-
tinue to carry on the said business at the above-mentioned
address.

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.--The subscription is at the rate
of 33s. per annum, including postage, PAYABLE IN
ADVANCE. A less period than three months cannot be sub-
scribed for.

Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line
for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and
any subsequent insertion.

Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged
23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.

The number of insertions required must be written
across the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday
evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be
received by the Government Printer before 3 o'clock of
the day preceding publication.

BANKRUPTCY NOTICES.

THE public are informed that extracts from the New
Zealand Gazette, containing all Bankruptcy Notices
that appear in each issue, are published weekly, and will
be sent post-free to any address on payment of a sub-
scription of 10s. per annum. Single copies, 3d. each.
