Constituting the Town District of Kaikohe, in the Bay of Islands County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is enacted by the Town Boards Act, 1908, that the Governor-General may declare that any locality outside a borough wherein there are not less than fifty householders shall be a town district :

And whereas a petition has been presented to the Governor-General by the inhabitants within the area mentioned and described in the said petition and in the Schedule hereto, praying that such area may be constituted a town district under the Town Boards Act, 1908 :

And whereas it is desirable that the said area be constituted a town district :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Town Boards Act, 1908, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto, being the locality defined in the said petition, shall be a town district, and the same is hereby constituted a town district, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, by the name of the Kaikohe Town District. And, in further pursuance and exercise of the said powers, I do hereby proclaim, declare, and appoint that the Board of Commissioners for the said district shall consist of five members.

SCHEDULE.

KAIKOHE TOWN DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, situated in Block XV, Omapere Survey District, bounded, commencing at the north-eastern corner of Taraire No. 1b 1c Block, towards the north generally by the Mangamutu Stream to the north-eastern boundary of Taraire No. 1f 1d Block ; towards the north-east generally by Taraire No. 2 Block, by the Mangamutu Stream aforesaid, and the Waioro River to the boundary between Kohewhata Nos. 6 and 40 Blocks ; towards the south generally by the aforesaid Kohewhata No. 6 Block and its south-western boundary to a point the production of the south-eastern boundary of Kohewhata No. 47 Block ; thence to and by the aforesaid boundary of Kohewhata No. 47 Block, 1682, 50, and 37·5 links ; thence by right lines intersecting the last-mentioned block, 402·5, 912·3, and 664·7 links, to the north-eastern corner of Kohewhata part No. 69 Block, and by that block to its north-western corner ; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Rangighamama C Block, by that block and Rangighamama No. 1 Block, by the Waikaka Stream, by Tuhuna Nos. 16 and 15 Blocks, by the crossing of the Taheke-Ohaeawai Road to the south-east corner of Tuhuna No. 11 Block, by its southern boundary, by the Waikotihe Block and the south side of the road forming the southern boundary of Tuhuna No. 7b Block, part of the northern boundary of Tuhuna No. 7p Block, and intersecting Tuhuna No. 7c Block ; towards the west generally by Tuhuna No. 6 Block and Tuhuna No. 2 Block ; and towards the north-west generally by Taraire No. 1o 3, No. 1c (part), and No. 1r (parts) Blocks, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned block, by the northern boundaries of Taraire No. 1z 2, No. 1v (part), No. 1x 1b (part) Blocks, the crossing of a public road, by the eastern boundary of Taraire No. 1p 2 Block, and that boundary produced to a public road, and by that road to a point the production of the south-eastern boundary of Taraire No. 1p 1b 6 Block ; thence to and by that boundary and by Taraire No. 1b 1c Block to the point of commencement : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Justice of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies ; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this seventh day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.
