Notice respecting Proposed Matau River District, County of Bruce.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General under the River Boards Act, 1908, and its amendments, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a river district under the said Acts, by name the Matau River District. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said river district which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE PROPOSED MATAU RIVER DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District bounded towards the north generally by the road forming the southern boundary of Section 1, Block III, North Tuakitoto Survey District, from the south-western corner of that section to and by the south-eastern side of a public road intersecting Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, to the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block VII; thence by the south-western boundary of Section 1 aforesaid, across a public road, and by the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block VI, North Tuakitoto Survey District, to the northernmost corner of Section 3, Block II, North Tuakitoto Survey District; thence by the north-western boundaries of Sections 3 and 2, Block II, North Tuakitoto Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of South Tuakitoto Survey District, thence by the eastern boundary of the aforesaid survey district to the south-eastern corner of Section 1, Block II, South Tuakitoto Survey District; thence by the southern boundary of that section to a point in line with the middle of Eddystone Street; thence to and by the middle of Eddystone Street to the middle of Exmouth Street; thence towards the south generally by the middle of Exmouth Street to Kaitangata Creek, and by that creek to its confluence with the Clutha River, and by the left bank of the Clutha River to the road forming the south-western boundary of Section 4, Block XIV, North Molyneux Survey District, across that road to and by the south-western boundaries of Sections 4 and 3; thence by the eastern boundary of Section 3 aforesaid to the Southern Trunk Railway, and by that railway to its intersection with the south-eastern boundary of Section 6, Block XI; thence by the south-eastern boundary of Section 6 aforesaid to the South Tuakitoto Survey District, and by western boundary of the South Tuakitoto Survey District to the place of commencement.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Ohakune, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

OHAKUNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Ohakune was taken on the 16th day of January, 1919, on the proposals to borrow £4,700 for electric-light extension and the repayment from Electric Light Account of £700 to Street Improvement Loan account.
The number of votes recorded for this proposal was 110, and the number of votes recorded against this proposal was 17.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
A proposal to borrow £2,000 to erect new Municipal Chambers and offices in brick and cement, and to furnish same when completed.
The number of votes recorded for this proposal was 82, and the number of votes recorded against this proposal was 42.
I therefore declare this proposal carried.
