Appointments, Promotions, and Transfers of Officers on Active Service with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, and transfers of the undermentioned officers on active service with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, vide List No. 78, E.F. Orders.

CANTERBURY MOUNTED RIFLES.

Major H. C. Hurst, D.S.O., performed the duties of Second in Command of the Regiment, vice Major P. M. Acton-Adams, D.S.O., temporarily Commanding the Regiment, from 16th May, 1918, to 28th June, 1918.

Major J. Studholme, D.S.O., is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst holding the appointment of A.A.G., N.Z.E.F. Dated 13th November, 1918.

WELLINGTON MOUNTED RIFLES.

9/2112, Trooper (Acting Squadron Sergeant-Major) H. Ritchie, to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is seconded for duty as Officer-in-Charge N.Z. Canteens in Egypt. Dated 12th June, 1918.

N.Z. CYCLIST BATTALION.

2nd Lieutenant E. C. E. Nicholson is seconded for duty to New Zealand. Dated 7th November, 1918.

2nd Lieutenant N. P. Branson, having been declared by a Medical Board to be unfit for General Service within twelve months, is seconded under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 34. Dated 26th October, 1918.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) E. H. Blomfield, M.C., relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain on return to duty of Captain A. H. Richards, to date 8th October, 1918, and is regranted the temporary rank of Captain, vice Captain A. H. Richards, to Staff Course in England. Dated 25th October, 1918.

Lieutenant-Colonel N. S. Falla, C.M.G., D.S.O., from Commanding 2nd Brigade, N.Z.F.A., to Command N.Z.F.A. Reserve Depot, vice Lieutenant-Colonel F. Symon, C.M.G., D.S.O., R.N.Z.A., appointed to Command 1st Brigade, N.Z.F.A. Dated 1st November, 1918.

Lieutenant A. H. Vial, M.M., to be Orderly Officer, 3rd Brigade, N.Z.F.A., vice Lieutenant R. F. Vial, appointed Adjutant. Dated 29th October, 1918.

Lieutenant W. A. Knox, returning to duty with a Battery, relinquishes the appointment of Orderly Officer, 2nd Brigade, N.Z.F.A. Dated 30th October, 1918.

2nd Lieutenant H. C. Cock to be Orderly Officer, 2nd Brigade, N.Z.F.A., vice Lieutenant W. A. Knox. Dated 30th October, 1918.

Captain E. G. Norman, M.C., granted two months’ leave in England, relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, 2nd Brigade, N.Z.F.A. Dated 10th November, 1918.

Lieutenant J. Mayer, M.C., to be Adjutant, 2nd Brigade, N.Z.F.A., vice Captain E. G. Norman, M.C., and is granted the acting rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 10th November, 1918.

Lieutenant A. W. Easther performed the duties of Adjutant, N.Z.F.A., Reserve Depot, vice Captain R. McPherson, M.C., from 31st August, 1918, to 1st October, 1918, inclusive.

Lieutenant G. B. Hull performed the duties of Adjutant, N.Z.F.A. Reserve Depot, vice Lieutenant A. W. Easther, and subsequently vice Lieutenant (Acting Captain) W. J. Hicks, M.M., on leave, from 2nd October, 1918, to 27th October, 1918, inclusive.

Standish, C.M.G., D.S.O., R.N.Z.A., to England on duty, to date 18th October, 1918, and retains the temporary rank, vice Lieutenant-Colonel N. S. Falla, C.M.G., D.S.O., to England on duty. Dated 1st November, 1918.

Lieutenant T. L. R. King, M.C., to be O.C. N.Z. Signal Reserve Depot, vice Lieutenant R. F. Ellis, M.M., and is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 7th November, 1918.
