HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, and discharges of officers on active service with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, vide List No. 96, N.Z.E.F. Orders:—

CANTERBURY MOUNTED RIFLES.

Captain T. L. Gibbs, to base for embarkation to New Zealand, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant to Commandant, Headquarters, N.Z.E.F., in Egypt. Dated 18th July, 1919.

N.Z. CYCLIST BATTALION.

2nd Lieutenant N. P. Branson to be Lieutenant, under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 13. Dated 29th July, 1919.

AUCKLAND REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant F. W. Lang, M.C., to be Lieutenant, under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 13. Dated 2nd August, 1919.

With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 119, of 2nd October, 1919, relating to Lieutenant J. P. Jarrett, for the words “Dated 31st January, 1919,” read “Dated 4th February, 1919.”

OTAGO REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant C. H. Stevenson, discharged in England, is struck off of the strength of the N.Z.E.F. Dated 2nd August, 1919.

N.Z. RIFLE BRIGADE.

The undermentioned to be Lieutenant, under provisions of N.Z.E.F. Regulation 13. Dated 2nd August, 1919:—

2nd Lieutenant (temp. Captain) H. C. Rodgers relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain on ceasing to perform the duties of a Company Officer, Isolation Camp, “A” Group, Larkhill. Dated 27th June, 1919.

N.Z. MACHINE-GUN CORPS.

Infantry Section.

Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) J. B. Parks, M.C., Essex Regiment, rejoined the British Army, is struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F. Dated 5th June, 1919.

N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS.

Captain C. B. Dick-Cleland, transferred to the Royal Air Force, is struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F. Dated 31st July, 1919.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.

The undermentioned, discharged in England, are struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F. :—

Captain J. Hoad. Dated 11th August, 1919.
Captain E. H. Bryant. Dated 13th August, 1919.

Lieutenant R. C. B. McRae, having completed the prescribed period of service, to be Captain. Dated 5th August, 1919.

AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.

Major H. S. Whitehorn, to base for embarkation to the United Kingdom, relinquishes the appointment of Second in Command of the regiment. Dated 22nd May, 1919.

Major J. H. Herrod, D.S.O., to be Second in Command of the regiment, vice Major H. S. Whitehorn, to base for embarkation to the United Kingdom. Dated 22nd May, 1919.

Captain R. W. Colbeck is granted the temporary rank of Major, vice Major H. S. Whitehorn, to base for embarkation to the United Kingdom. Dated 22nd May, 1919.

Lieutenant R. C. Chapman is granted the temporary rank of Captain, vice Captain R. W. Colbeck, temporarily commanding a squadron. Dated 22nd May, 1919.

CANTERBURY MOUNTED RIFLES.

Captain D. B. Murchison, M.C., relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, to squadron duty. Dated 24th June, 1919.

Lieutenant J. Bosomworth to be Adjutant, vice Captain D. B. Murchison, M.C., to squadron duty, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst so employed, to date 24th June, 1919, and relinquishes the appointment and the temporary rank of Captain on reorganization. Dated 30th June, 1919.
