And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, provided that the rate of interest at which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no case produce to the lender a return exceeding five and one-quarter pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this third day of November, 1919.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf), whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council :

And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out in column B therein :

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Patea Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this third day of November, 1919.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke an Order in Council dated the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, and published in the Gazette of the second day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, appointing a Domain Board to have control of the Patea Domain, and doth hereby appoint

JOSEPH HENRY CRONIN,
ALFRED DAVIES,
FREDERICK GEORGE DAVIES,
FREDERICK LEWIS HARRISON,
CHARLES ALBERT LARCOMBE, and
CHARLES MCKELLAR STROUTS

to be the Patea Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the twenty-fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, at half past seven o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Borough Council Chambers, Patea, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

PATEA DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 65 acres 2 roods 25 perches, more or less, being Blocks Nos. XLIV and XLV, Town of Patea, Block VII, Carlyle Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a road, 1326·1 links; generally towards the east by a road, Rutland Street, Middlesex Street, Surrey Street, and Egmont Street, 4670·2 links; generally towards the south by Section 73, Block VII aforesaid, 2000 links; and generally towards the west by Sections 50 and 51, Block VII aforesaid, 3921 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/148, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Rangitata Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this third day of November, 1919.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to the said Act, control of such domain :

And whereas by an Order in Council made on the seventeenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the nineteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, the domain described in the Schedule hereto was brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act :

And whereas it appears expedient to appoint a Domain Board to control the said domain :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and
