I hereby give notice that on the 15th day of October, 1919, a proposal was submitted by the Gisborne Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Gisborne for raising a special loan of £42,500 for Peel Street Bridge and street metalling for the Borough of Gisborne, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows : For, 428; against, 368; informal, 33.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.
I hereby give notice that on the 15th day of October, 1919, a proposal was submitted by the Gisborne Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Te Hapara Special District of the Borough of Gisborne for raising a special loan of £18,000 for general improvements, Te Hapara Special Area (water, sewerage, and electric light), and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows : For, 51 ; against, 6.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Whakatane, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.
WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll.—Loan, £49,600.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Whakatane (within the Matata, Tarawera, Rangitaiki, and Omataroa Ridings) taken on the 4th day of October, 1919, on the proposal of the Whakatane County Council to borrow the sum of £49,600 from the Public Trustee for metalling, widening, formation, bridging, and purchase of necessary plant, &c., the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 260, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 29 ; informal votes, 3.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Gisborne, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.
Gisborne Borough Council.
Results of Polls of Loans.
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and the Acts amending same respectively.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 15th day of October, 1919, a proposal was submitted by the Gisborne Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Gisborne for raising a special loan of £17,500 for street formation and metalling for the Borough of Gisborne, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows : For, 405; against, 394 ; informal, 30.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.
I hereby give notice that on the 15th day of October, 1919, a proposal was submitted by the Gisborne Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Gisborne for raising a special loan of £35,000 for bridge across Turanganui River, Gladstone Road, for the Borough of Gisborne, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows : For, 408 ; against, 393 ; informal, 28.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.
I hereby give notice that on the 15th day of October, 1919, a proposal was submitted by the Gisborne Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Gisborne for raising a special loan of £25,000 for concrete road, Gladstone Road, for the Borough of Gisborne, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows : For, 329; against, 463 ; informal, 37.
And I declare the said proposal to be not carried.
I hereby give notice that on the 15th day of October, 1919, a proposal was submitted by the Gisborne Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Gisborne for raising a special loan of £7,000 for sea outfall, Stanley Road septic tank, public conveniences Peel Street, and acquisition of additional land Score Point and Aberdeen Road Reserves, for the Borough of Gisborne, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows : For, 543; against, 256; informal, 30.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Whakatane (within the Waimana, Taneatua, Opouriao, and Nukuhou Ridings) taken on the 4th day of October, 1919, on the proposal of the Whakatane County Council to borrow the sum of £30,400 from the Public Trustee for metalling, widening, formation, bridging, and purchase of necessary plant, &c., the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 188, and the number of votes against the proposal was 95.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
