(d.) Lat. 51° 32′ 57″ N., long. 1° 17′ 0″ E. ,, 25 ft.
(e.) Lat. 51° 32′ 55″ N., long. 1° 16′ 48″ E. ,, 24 ft.
Note.—The positions given refer to Chart No. 1607.
TONGUE LIGHT-VESSEL. — WRECK-MARKING VESSEL ESTABLISHED SOUTHWARD OF.
Former Notice.—No. 377 of 1919.
Position.—At a distance of about 2 cables eastward from the wreck of the s.s. “ Algeria ” situated in lat. 51° 28′ 30″ N., long. 1° 23′ 52″ E.
Description.—A wreck-marking vessel showing the regulation black balls by day and white lights by night.
DOVER STRAIT.—THE RIDGE (LE COLBART).—WRECK REPORTED OFF.
Position (approximate).—At a distance of about half a mile north-eastward of the S.W. Colbart light-vessel. Lat. 50° 49′ 25″ N., long. 1° 15′ 25″ E.
Description.—Sunken wreck with spar showing above water.
SOUTH-EAST COAST.—DOVER STRAIT.—INTENDED ALTERATION IN LIGHT-VESSELS.
Date of Alteration.—Very shortly.
Position.—East Goodwin light-vessel station, lat. 51° 13′ N., long. 1° 36′ 30″ E.
Alteration.—It is intended to withdraw the Dover-Calais light-vessel from her station in lat. 51° 3′ N., long. 1° 32′ E., and to re-establish her with altered characteristics on the East Goodwin station given above.
Note.—Further notice will be given when the foregoing alteration has been carried out.
SOUTH COAST.—PORTSMOUTH HARBOUR ENTRANCE.—EXISTENCE OF WRECK.
Position.—In the Inner Swashway, at a distance of 9·6 cables, 280° (N. 65° W. mag.), from Southsea Castle light. Lat. 50° 46¾′ N., long. 1° 6¾′ W.
Description.—Sunken wreck of a vessel, with mast showing above water.
Variation.—15° W.
CANADA.
NOVA SCOTIA.—HALIFAX HARBOUR AND APPROACHES.—ALTERATIONS IN AIDS TO NAVIGATION.

The following light-buoys have been withdrawn :-
(a.) Tufts Cove light-buoy :
Position.—At a distance of about 2¾ cables south-eastward from Turple Head. Lat. 44° 40½′ N., long. 63° 36¼′ W.
Description.—A red can light-buoy formerly exhibiting an occulting red light.
(b.) Africville light-buoy :
Position.—At a distance of about 2¼ cables south-westward from Turple Head. Lat. 44° 40½′ N., long. 63° 37′ W.
Description.—A black can light-buoy, formerly exhibiting an occulting white light. -
The following light-and-whistle buoy has been withdrawn :-
Intermediate light-and-whistle buoy :
Position.—Lat. 44° 28¾′ N., long. 63° 26½′ W.
Description.—A light-and-whistle buoy, formerly exhibiting an occulting white light. -
The following light-and-bell buoy has been withdrawn :-
Light-and-bell buoy off Lighthouse Bank :
Position.—Lat. 44° 35¼′ N., long. 63° 31¾′ W.
Details.—The light-and-bell buoy, formerly exhibiting a fixed red light, has been withdrawn, and is replaced by a red conical buoy. -
The following light-and-bell buoy has been established :-
Neverfail Shoal light-and-bell buoy :
Position.—In the position of the can buoy which has been withdrawn. Lat. 44° 33′ 13″ N.; long. 63° 31′ 19″ W.
Description.—A light-and-bell buoy, painted in red and black horizontal bands, exhibiting an occulting white light.
Remarks.—The light-and-bell buoy shown on the charts about 3 cables westward of the above position is to be expunged. -
The following light-and-whistle buoy has been moved to its original position :-
Outer light-and-whistle buoy :
Position.—At a distance of about 4¼ miles northward from position shown on charts. Lat. 44° 28′ 25″ N., long. 63° 22′ 45″ W. -
The following leading-lights have been discontinued :-
Bedford Narrows leading-lights :
(a.) Front light :
Position.—At a distance of about three-quarters of a cable westward of the point on the western side of the entrance to Tufts Cove. Lat. 44° 40½′ N., long. 63° 36¼′ W.
Description.—A fixed white light.
(b.) Rear light :
Position.—At a distance of about 1½ cables northward from front light.
Description.—A fixed white light.
CHINA.
EAST COAST.—YANG-TSE-KIANG.—SOUTH CHANNEL ENTRANCE.—ALTERATIONS IN WRECK-MARKING LIGHT-BUOYS.
Position (approximate).—Wreck, lat. 31° 5′ 30″ N., long. 122° 2′ 8″ E., on Chart No. 1602.

Light-buoy established ;
Position.—At a distance of about half a cable south-eastward from the wreck of the s.s. “ Shaohsing,” sunk in the above position.
Description.—A light-buoy painted green, exhibiting an occulting white light every eight seconds, thus—light 4 secs., eclipse 4 secs. -
Light-buoys withdrawn :
Positions.—At distances of 7½ cables north-westward and south-eastward respectively from the wreck.
Details.—These two light-buoys, which formerly marked the wreck, have been withdrawn, and are to be expunged from the charts.
HONG KONG HARBOUR APPROACH.—BOKHARA ROCKS.—ALTERATION IN POSITION OF BUOY.
New Position.—At a distance of about 2 cables eastward from former position, and 1·8 cables, 101° (S. 79° E. mag.), from the centre of the 2½-fathom head on Bokhara Rocks. Lat. 22° 12¾′ N., long. 114° 16½′ E.
Description.—A black-and-white chequered buoy.
Remarks.—This buoy was not hitherto shown on Chart No. 3026, and is to be inserted.
Variation.—Nil.
SUMATRA.
EAST COAST.—LINGA ISLAND.—KENTAR ISLAND.—LIGHT ESTABLISHED.
Position.—On the eastern end of Kentar Island. Lat. 0° 2′ 0″ N., long. 104° 47′ E.
Abridged Description.—Lt. gp. fl. (3), ev. 10 secs., vis. 26 m.
Characteristics :—
Character.—A group flashing white light showing three flashes in quick succession every ten seconds.
Elevation.—Not stated.
Visibility.—26 miles.
Structure.—Not stated.
MALACCA STRAIT.
PENANG HARBOUR APPROACH.—NORTH CHANNEL.—LIGHT-BUOY WITHDRAWN.
Position.—At a distance of about 3¼ miles northward from the white obelisk on Pulo Tikus. Lat. 5° 31¾′ N., long. 100° 16¾′ E.
Description.—A light-buoy formerly exhibiting an occulting red light.
Remarks.—The above light-buoy has been withdrawn, and is to be expunged from the charts.
AUSTRALIA.
TORRES STRAIT APPROACH. — MERKARA SHOAL. — LIGHT-VESSEL ESTABLISHED SOUTH-WESTWARD OF.
Position.—At a distance of 20 miles, 240° (S. 55° W. mag.), from Merkara Shoal. Lat. 10° 40′ S., long. 140° 55′ E.
Characteristics :
(a.) Light :
Abridged Description.—Lt. gp. fl. (3), ev. 15 secs., 32 ft., vis. 10 m. (U).
Character.—A group flashing white light showing three flashes every fifteen seconds, thus—flash ½ sec., eclipse 1½ secs. ; flash ½ sec., eclipse 1½ secs. ; flash ½ sec., eclipse 10½ secs.
Elevation.—32 ft.
