Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Kaikoura, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

COUNTY OF KAIKOURA.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Peninsula Riding of the County of Kaikoura taken on the 7th day of October, 1919, on the proposal of the Kaikoura County Council to borrow the sum of £2,400 for the purpose of electrical installation within the Peninsula Riding, and the provision and erection of all plant, material, or things necessary or incidental thereto, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 52, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 0.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

CITY OF AUCKLAND.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Grey Lynn Area of the City of Auckland taken on the 8th day of October, 1919, on the proposal of the Auckland City Council to borrow the sum of £90,000 for street improvements and drainage in the Grey Lynn Area of the City of Auckland, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 267, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 133.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Oxford, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

OXFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Oxford County was taken on the 16th day of October, 1919, on the proposal of the Oxford County Council to borrow the sum of £6,500 for the following purposes:—

(1.) The sum of £1,800 for the purpose of liquidating the Council’s one-third share of the estimated cost of erection of public hospital at Oxford.

(2.) The sum of £2,000 for the purpose of erecting new Council Chambers.

(3.) The sum of £700 for the purpose of erecting new house for water-race caretaker.

(4.) The sum of £700 for the purpose of constructing and erecting bridge over Cooper’s Creek.

(5.) The sum of £1,000 for the purpose of erecting new house for the use of the Clerk of the County Council.

(6.) The sum of £300 towards the cost of payment of the first year’s interest and the preliminary expenses incurred in connection with the loan, and the doing of all things necessary and incidental to such undertaking.

And that the security for such loan and the interest thereon be a special rate of ½d. in the pound on the rateable value on all rateable property in the Oxford County; and that the whole loan be repayable in twenty years; and the rate of interest on the said loan be at a rate not exceeding 5½ per cent. per annum; and that provision be made for a sinking fund of 1 per cent. per annum on account of the repayment of the said loan; and that the preliminary expenses incurred in connection with the undertaking for which the loan is to be raised, and the cost of raising the loan, and the first year’s interest and sinking fund during the construction of the said work be paid out of the loan-moneys.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 279, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 128; informal votes, 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice respecting Proposed Borough of Blackball.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 21st October, 1919.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, it is hereby notified that a petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fifth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, praying that the said area may be constituted a borough under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, by name the Borough of Blackball. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed constitution within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

PROPOSED BOROUGH OF BLACKBALL.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District bounded by a line as follows: Commencing at the confluence of Fords Stream and Blackball Stream with Grey River (in Block VI, Mawheranui Survey District); thence proceeding up the centre of Fords Stream to the southern boundary of Block II, Mawheranui Survey District; thence due west along the said boundary of Block II to Kinsellas Peak; thence along a right line bearing 315° for a distance of 140 chains; thence along a right line due north for a distance of 130 chains; thence along a right line due east to the centre of Blackball Stream; thence down the centre of Blackball Stream to its confluence with the Grey River, being the point of commencement: be the aforesaid bearings and linkages more or less.

Notice respecting Proposed Drainage District, Kimihia, County of Waikato.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 21st October, 1919.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a drainage district under Part I of the said Act, by name the Drainage District of Kimihia. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said drainage district which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
