Broken land, half open, half mixed forest comprising manuka, rewarewa, rimu, kohekohe, and occasional puriri and kauri, with a thick undergrowth of scrub. Soil of fair quality in forest, but poor in open land, on sandstone formation; well watered by streams. Distant about ten miles by formed dray-road from Waitakaruru Landing, and about thirty-nine miles from Morrinsville.
Whakatane County.—Rangitaiki Upper Survey District.
Section 2, Block V: Area, 934 acres. Capital value, £940. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £23 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £18 16s.
Altitude, 200 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. About 130 acres flat, the land at the back of section being high and broken. Practically all covered with manuka, fern, tutu, and koromiko. Light sandy soil, on pumice formation; well watered by streams. Fronts main coach-road. About ten miles from Matata and seven miles from Te Teko.
Section 6, Block V: Area, 657 acres. Capital value, £500. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £12 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £10.
Altitude, 200 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. About 30 acres ploughable; balance low hills, rising to steep and broken country at back of section. One or two small clumps of mixed forest; balance manuka, fern, tutu, and koromiko. Light sandy soil, on pumice formation; well watered by streams. Fronts main coach-road. About nine miles from Matata and six miles from Te Teko.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1912, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the land described in the Schedule hereto for disposal under the section of the Act mentioned.

Specifying Districts in which Local Restoration Poll to be taken at Next General Licensing Poll.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by reason of changes in electoral districts each of the licensing districts mentioned in the Schedule hereto is a new district within the meaning of section twelve of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1910, in which the grant of licenses is, by reason of a former licensing poll, prohibited throughout an area thereof containing more than half the population of the district:
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested in me by that section, and for the purposes of paragraphs (c) and (d) of that section, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that at the next general licensing poll (being the first licensing poll after the gazetting of this notice) the poll to be taken in each of such new districts on the questions relating to local restoration shall be taken under section eight of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1910, and I do hereby notify that, pursuant to section fifty-seven of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1918, no local no-license poll will be taken in any other licensing district on the question whether licenses shall continue to be granted in that district.
