Declaring Road-lines through Land in Toko-iti Settlement, Otago Land District, to be closed.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS a report has been received from the Surveyor-General, from which it appears that the roads described in the Schedule hereto are unformed and unused, and that the said roads intersect land acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and are not suitable to the subdivision of such land:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of section eighty of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do by this notice hereby close the roads hereinafter described; and I do hereby declare that the said roads shall thereupon become subject to the said Act.

TOKO-ITI SETTLEMENT.
APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of road to be closed:—

2 0 10 Sections 2 of 32, 33, 1 of 20, and 2 of 20, Block I, Kaitangata Survey District.
9 0 10 Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Block XXVIII, Tokomairiro Survey District, and Sections 19, 2 of 20, and 33, Block I, Kaitangata Survey District.
16 2 0 Sections 2 of 20, 1 of 20, 21, 22, 23, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19, Block I, Kaitangata Survey District.
3 1 0 Sections 17, 18, and 19, Block I, Kaitangata Survey District.
In the Otago Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/170, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this seventeenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Opening National Endowment Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Awakino County.—Whareorino Survey District.
Section 11, Block XI: Area, 613 acres 3 roods; capital value, £620; half-yearly rent, £12 8s.
Weighted with £40, valuation for improvements comprising iron shed.
Altitude, 500 ft. to 1,400 ft. above sea-level. Broken land. About 30 acres has been felled and grassed, but has now gone back to fern and scrub; balance heavy mixed forest comprising tawa, towai, kohekohe, tawhero, rimu, rata, &c., with heavy undergrowth of supplejack, makomako, konini, punga, &c. Soil of medium quality; well watered by small streams. Distant about eighteen miles from Awakino, sixteen miles and a half of which is by formed dray-road, balance partly formed pack-track in bad repair. Awakino is about forty-five miles south-eastward from Te Kuiti, and has an irregular boat service from Waitara.

Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1909.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
West Taupo County.—Tuhua Survey District.
Section 2, Block I: Area, 994 acres. Capital value, £1,620. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £40 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £32 8s.
Altitude, 650 ft. to 2,000 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken country. About 120 acres mixed forest comprising tawa, rimu, rata, rewarewa, &c., with heavy undergrowth of supplejack, mahoe, konini, &c.; balance covered with fern, manuka, and tutu. Light soil of medium quality, on sandstone formation, well watered by small streams and springs. Distant about one mile and a half from Ongarue by formed road.
Awakino County.—Whareorino Survey District.
Section 4, Block X: Area, 315 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £470. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £11 15s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £9 8s.
Weighted with £30, valuation for fencing. Section is subject to mortgage from State Advances Office. (£300, approximate.)
Altitude, 100 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken land, covered with heavy mixed forest comprising tawa, tawhero, rata, rimu, &c., with heavy undergrowth of makomako, konini, mahoe, supplejack, &c. Soil of medium quality, on rubble formation; well watered by small stream. Distant about twenty-two miles from Awakino by formed road partly metalled. Awakino is about forty-five miles south-eastward from Te Kuiti, and has an irregular boat service from Waitara.
Opotiki County.—Waioeka Survey District.
Section 9, Block XV: Area, 1,419 acres. Capital value, £800. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £20. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £16.
Weighted with £110, valuation for improvements comprising felling and grassing, and small whare with iron roof.
Altitude, 600 ft. to 2,600 ft. above sea-level. Broken country, of which about 50 acres has been felled and grassed; balance mixed forest comprising rimu, miro and tawhai, hinau, rata, tawa, rewarewa, &c., with thick undergrowth of horopito, mahoe, makomako, and vines. Soil of good quality, of a sandy nature, on sandstone formation; well watered by several streams. Distant about six miles from Oponae Post-office by pack-track. Oponae is twenty-three miles from Opotiki by cart-road.
West Taupo County.—Wharepapa Survey District.
Section 4, Block XV: Area, 220 acres. Capital value, £390. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £9 15s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £7 16s.
Altitude, 1,500 ft. to 1,900 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to slightly broken land, about one-third manuka scrub; balance heavy mixed forest comprising tawa, rata, rewarewa, tawhero, rimu, and a few totara, with heavy undergrowth of raurekau, mahoe, makomako, supplejack, &c. Soil of medium quality, on volcanic formation; well watered by small stream. Distant about thirty-five miles from Te Awamutu by formed road. School adjoins section.
Ohinemuri County.—Piako Survey District.
Section 8, Block XI: Area, 243 acres. Capital value, £240. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £6. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4 16s
