Regulations for Deer-shooting, Southland.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called "the said
Act"), I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-
shooting season in the Southland Acclimatization District,
excluding Stewart Island and all sanctuaries, and the con-
ditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and
the fee payable therefor.
REGULATIONS.
-
RED deer (stags only) may be taken or killed within the
Southland Acclimatization District, excluding Stewart Island
and all sanctuaries, from the 20th day of March, 1920, to the
31st day of May, 1920, both days inclusive. -
Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the
Chief Postmaster at Invercargill, on payment of a license fee
of £4 4s., in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and
subject to the said Act and these regulations. The number
of 1.ch licenses shall not exceed ten; provided that not more
than one such license shall be issued to the same person. -
No licensee shall take or kill more than two stags, and
no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten
points. -
No hind or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext
whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany
either himself or any attendant he may have with him. -
Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing
any person to sell any deer or portion thereof. -
Regulations as to deer "tags," per New Zealand Gazette
No. 40, Vol. I, of 20th May, 1909, page 1408, shall be strictly
adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall
return all unused "tags" to the secretary of the Southland
Acclimatization Society, Invercargill, immediately he has
finished stalking for the season for which such "tags" have
been issued, together with a statement of the number of deer
shot. -
Any person committing a breach of any of these regula-
tions shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding £20.
SCHEDULE.
License to take or kill Game (Deer).
No. , of , having this day paid the sum of
£4 4s., is hereby authorized to take or kill two deer (stags),
of not less than ten points, within the Southland Acclimatiza-
tion District, excluding Stewart Island and all sanctuaries,
from the day of 1920, to the
day of 1920 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions
of the Animals Protection Act, 1908, and all regulations
thereunder in force within the said district.

Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations for the New Zealand
Permanent Forces.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on me by
the Defence Act, 1909, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke certain
regulations shown in the Schedule hereto, and do also make additional regula-
tions as shown in the said Schedule; and I do hereby declare that such revoca-
tion shall take effect and such regulations come into force as from the dates
shown in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
THE following regulations are hereby revoked as from the dates shown:—
Regulation 74, revoked as from the 1st April, 1918.
Regulation 86, revoked as from the 1st January, 1919.
Regulation 113, revoked as from 1st August, 1919.
Regulation 117, revoked as from the 1st August, 1919.
Regulations 125 to 127A, revoked as from the 1st August, 1919.
Regulations 179 to 195, revoked as from the 20th May, 1919.
The following regulations are hereby made, to take effect from the dates
specified :--
FREE ISSUE OF UNIFORM. - ALL RANKS.
(From 1st January, 1919.)
- All ranks of the New Zealand Permanent Force shall receive a free issue
of uniform and equipment, as provided in the Clothing Regulations, or an
allowance equivalent to the estimated value thereof, when such issue cannot be
officially made.
LODGING-ALLOWANCE ABOLISHED.
(From 1st August, 1919.)
- All ranks temporarily transferred for duty at any station outside their
own headquarters shall be entitled to draw travelling-allowance for twenty-eight
days only.
REMOVAL OF FURNITURE.
(From 1st August, 1919.)
- Before removal is undertaken tenders must be called from at least two
carriers, and submitted through the usual channel to the General Officer in Charge
of Administration, who will authorize the acceptance of the tender approved.
Where the lowest tender is in excess of the undernoted scale, and considered
unreasonable, the Defence Department will make its own arrangements for
removal.
Reimbursement of cost of removing furniture shall be subject to the follow-
ing limitations :-
