LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section four of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

JAMES DAVIDSON

to be a trustee, in the place of the Reverend William McAra, deceased, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Kaikoura Suburban Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Joseph Nicholas Flower and John Michael Curtain, previously appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this ninth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Trustees for the Orawaiti Public Cemetery appointed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section four of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

to be additional trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the Orawaiti Public Cemetery, in conjunction with James Powell, Thomas Baillie, and Charles Adolph Lempfert, previously appointed.

Trustees for the Waimate Public Cemetery appointed.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by Warrants dated the twenty-first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and the twenty-sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, Arthur James Manchester and Edwin Claud Hayes, M.R.C.S., were respectively appointed to be trustees to provide for the care and maintenance of the Waimate Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons previously appointed as trustees :

And whereas the said Arthur James Manchester and Edwin Claud Hayes, M.R.C.S., have ceased to be trustees of the aforesaid cemetery by reason of absence from New Zealand for six consecutive months :

And whereas it is considered expedient to again appoint the aforesaid persons to be trustees of the said cemetery :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section 4 of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, do hereby appoint :

ARTHUR JAMES MANCHESTER and
EDWIN CLAUD HAYES, M.R.C.S.,

to be trustees to provide for the care and maintenance of the Waimate Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Alfred Garland, John Foley, the Reverend John Awdry Julius, and Peter Grant, previously appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this eleventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Appointing a Member of the Waitara Harbour Board.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS it is provided by section seventeen of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910, that the office of any member of a Harbour Board shall become vacant if, inter alia, he resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Chairman or Secretary of the Board :

And whereas it is provided by subsection two of section eighteen of the said Act that when an elective member other than a representative of a constituent district vacates his office on the Board through the operation of the said section seventeen the Governor-General may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place :

And whereas Thomas Buchanan, an elective member of the Waitara Harbour Board, being the representative of the electors of the combined district of the Borough of Waitara, the County of Clifton, and that part of the County of Taranaki within the Waitara Harbour District, has resigned his office as hereinbefore mentioned, and it is desirable to appoint a qualified person as a representative of the electors of the said combined district in his place :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint WILLIAM HENRY NOSWORTHY, of Waitara, to be a member of the Waitara Harbour Board, as a representative of the electors of the said combined district, in place of Thomas Buchanan, resigned.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this tenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Postmaster appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

EMILY FRANCES SULLIVAN,

being a person holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at Urenui, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

As witness my hand this thirteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Revoking Part of a Proclamation taking Additional Land between Takanini and Runciman for the Purposes of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway, and Road-diversions in connection therewith.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, it is enacted that if at any time after the issue or making of any Proclamation taking land under the Public Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found that the land or any part thereof is not required for the purpose for which it was taken the Governor-General may, by a subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoke the former Proclamation, either wholly or so far as he thinks necessary :

And whereas it is found that part of the land between Takanini and Runciman taken for the purposes of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway by a Proclamation made under the Public Works Act, 1908, dated the ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen (hereinafter termed the “the said Proclamation”), and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 8, of the eighteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, page 176, is not required for the purpose for which it was taken :

And whereas compensation in respect of the taking of the said land has not been paid or awarded :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby revoke so much of the said Proclamation as affects the land described in the Schedule hereto.
