to be members of the Hamua Public Hall Board constituted by the Order in Council dated the eleventh day of February hereinbefore referred to, in place of the said Humberto John Luoni and Philip Davies, who have resigned.

Prohibiting the Importation into New Zealand of a certain Publication.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, and section two of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Amendment Act, 1915, doth hereby prohibit the importation into New Zealand of the publication named or described in the Schedule hereto.

Validating Special Order with respect to a Loan of £900.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of September, 1919.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Waitomo County Council, at a special meeting of the said Council held on the third day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, duly passed a special order, which special order was confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the seventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, authorizing the raising of a loan of nine hundred pounds, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of reforming and culverting also metalling part of the Kahuwera Road situate within the Kahuwera Special Rating Area :
And whereas by subsection (b) of section ninety-seven of the Counties Act, 1908, it is provided that all special orders shall be confirmed at a subsequent meeting (either ordinary or special) held not sooner than the twenty-eighth day and not later than the seventieth day after such special meeting :
And whereas by subsection (c) of section ninety-seven of the last-mentioned Act it is required that public notice of the time and place fixed for such subsequent meeting and of such resolution shall be given once in each of the four weeks immediately preceding the day on which the subsequent meeting is to be held :
And whereas public notice of the time and place fixed for such subsequent meeting and of such resolution was duly advertised in the King Country Chronicle, a newspaper published at Te Kuiti, on the following dates—fifth, twelfth, nineteenth, and twenty-sixth days of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen :
And whereas the above-mentioned confirming meeting was not held within seven days of the appearance of the last-mentioned advertisement :
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the same :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby validate the special order authorizing the raising of the said loan ; and doth hereby declare that the proceedings relative to such loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.
