ances, matters, and things necessary, incident, or

4. The widening of the street in the borough known as the
Great North-western Road, and such forming, grad-
ing, making, and metalling as is rendered necessary
by such widening ; and the supplying or providing
of all material, appliances, matters, and things neces-
sary, incident, or relating thereto : £1,500
5. The formation, making, and completing of footpaths in
the said borough, and of all curbing, water-channels,
and other works, matters, and things necessary,
expedient, or usual in connection therewith : £4,480
6. The redecking of the Wanganui Town Bridge, and the
providing or supplying of all material, plant, matters,
and things necessary, incident, or relating thereto :

7. The laying-down in concrete, tar macadam, or other
permanent material of various streets in that por-
tion of the borough known as Wanganui East, and
the providing or supplying of all material, appli-
cances, matters, and things necessary, incident, or
relating thereto : £2,000
8. The construction, making, forming, and metalling of
streets in that portion of the borough known as
Aramoho, and of all works and things necessary or
usual or convenient in connection therewith : £2,200
9. The regrading, constructing, forming, metalling, and
completing of the street situate in the borough and
known as the Number 2 Line of Road, and of all
works and things necessary or convenient or usual
in connection therewith : £2,000
10. For matters incidental or relating to all, any, either,
or each of the above-mentioned purposes : £1,120
the Wanganui Borough Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of threepence (3d.) in the pound on the rateable
value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable pro-
perty of the Borough of Wanganui, comprising the whole of
the Borough of Wanganui, the boundaries whereof are defined
in the New Zealand Gazette of the 19th day of December,
1912, Number 92, at page 3618. And that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of April
and the first day of October in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20)
years from the first day of October, 1919, or until the loan
is fully paid off.
In witness whereof the common seal of the Mayor, Coun-
cillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Wanganui has been
hereto affixed this twenty-sixth day of August, 1919.
The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses
of the Borough of Wanganui was hereto affixed by order of
the Council of the said borough by and in the presence of—

WANGANUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the
Wanganui Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking
fund, and other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to
be raised by the Wanganui Borough Council, under the
above-mentioned Act, for the following purposes, namely :—
The providing, purchase, and erection of a refuse-destruc-
tor, steam boiler, and electric-generating plant for or
in connection with the destruction of refuse in the said
borough; the providing or purchase of an electric motor-
lorry for the purpose of carrying or conveying refuse
to such refuse-destructor; the erection, building, or
construction of buildings necessary for housing or con-
taining the same; and for all appliances, matters, and
things necessary, incident, or relating to all or any of
the matters aforesaid—
the Wanganui Borough Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of one penny (1d.) in the pound on the rateable
value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable pro-
perty of the Borough of Wanganui, comprising the whole
of the Borough of Wanganui, the boundaries whereof are
defined in the New Zealand Gazette of the 19th day of De-
cember, 1912, Number 92, at page 3618. And that such
special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the
first day of April and the first day of October in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of twenty-one (21) years from the 1st day of October, 1919,
or until the loan is fully paid off.

NAPIER RECREATION GROUND COMPANY (LIMITED).
IN LIQUIDATION.
A GENERAL meeting of shareholders of the above com-
pany will be held at the office of the Hawke's Bay
Agricultural and Pastoral Society, Tennyson Street, Napier,
on Tuesday, the 21st October, 1919, at 4 o'clock p.m., to
adopt resolutions for finally winding up the said company.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
THE Partnership hitherto existing between JOHN WILLIAM
FRANCIS and OLIVER STEWART PENNICUICK as Shop and
Office Fitters has been dissolved by mutual consent as from
the 19th day of March, 1919.
Mr. FRANCIS will in future carry on business at No. 115
Sherborne Street, St. Albans.
Mr. PENNICUICK will in future carry on business at the
present address, 58 Salisbury Street, Christchurch.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Education
Board of the District of Taranaki proposes to provide
land as a school-site, and for such purpose requires to take
all that parcel of land being part Subdivision 4 of the
Ngatitara Block, Block VI, Opunake Survey District, con-
taining by admeasurement 3 acres, and bounded as follows :
Commencing from a point the south-western corner of
Subdivision 4; thence bounded towards the south-west by
Subdivision 3 of the same block, 421 decimal 4 links;
thence towards the north-west and north-east by the other
part of Subdivision 4, 715 decimal 7 links and 395 decimal
5 links, to the Kina Road; thence towards the south-east
by the Kina Road, 97 decimal 8 links and 620 decimal
9 links, to the commencing-point.
A plan of the land required to be taken as aforesaid is
deposited for public inspection at Messrs. T. P. Hughson
and Sons' Store at Rahotu.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth
in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of
the said work or to the taking of the said land, and to send
such writing, within forty days from the first publication
of this notice on the 2nd day of October, 1919, to the Educa-
tion Board of the District of Taranaki, at its office in
Lemon Street in the Town of New Plymouth.
