WAIMARINO COUNTY COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Waimarino County was taken on the 5th day of September, 1919, on the proposal of the Waimarino County Council to borrow the sum of £8,000 for the purchase of road-making machinery, plant for the construction of reinforced-concrete bridges, motor road-roller, motor-trucks, and buildings for the housing of the plant.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 94, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 58.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of that part of St. Albans Ward of the City of Christchurch named “Elmwood Park Special Rating Area” taken on the 26th day of August, 1919, on the proposal of the Christchurch City Council to borrow the sum of £5,100 for the purchase of land at Elmwood, St. Albans Ward, for use as a pleasure-ground for the benefit of the inhabitants of that part of St. Albans Ward of the City of Christchurch named by resolution of the Christchurch City Council ‘Elmwood Park Special Rating Area,’ the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 229, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 27.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Raetihi Town Board was taken on the 12th day of September, 1919. The number of votes recorded for the two proposals was—

The sum of £3,500 for the duplication and extension of the electric light and power plant: For the proposal, 26; against the proposal, 2; total, 28.

The sum of £1,000 for the purpose of providing building plant and equipment for a fire brigade: For the proposal, 20; against the proposal, 8; total, 28.
As the majority of the total votes recorded was in favour of the proposals, I hereby declare both proposals duly carried.

Notice of Result of Poll, taken by Written Consent, to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Awahou Roadman’s Cottage Special Rating Area was taken by written consent, on 26th August, 1919, on the proposal of the Pohangina County Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 for the purpose of purchasing land and erecting a cottage thereon for the use of the Awahou Riding Roadman.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 39; against, nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks XVI, XI, and VI, Ahikereru Survey District, Whakatane County, for the Purposes of Roadmen’s Paddocks.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of roadmen’s paddocks in Blocks XVI, XI, and VI, Ahikereru Survey District, Whakatane County; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Ruatahuna, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
