Resuming Land for Scenic Purposes in Tangitu Survey District, Taranaki Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in Council may by Proclamation resume possession of any land leased under Part IV of the said Act, or under any corresponding Part of the Land Act, 1892, which in his opinion is required for any public purpose :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of the land which is held on occupation-with-right-of-purchase license from His Majesty the King issued under Part III of the Land Act, 1908, dated the twenty-sixth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twelve :
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for a scenic reserve :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under occupation-with-right-of-purchase license as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 8 acres, more or less, being Section 15 (formerly portion of Section 7), Block XI, Tangitu Survey District. Bounded towards the north by other part of Section 7 aforesaid, 731·8 links; towards the east, south, and west generally by Okoroa Road, 3788·7 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/44, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Justice of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.
