WAIMARINO COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and
of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the
Waimarino County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of one
thousand two hundred and fifty pounds (£1,250), authorized
to be raised by the Waimarino County Council, under the
above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of widening, forming,
reculverting, and remetalling the Parapara-Raetihi Road
southwards from the Raetihi Town District boundary a
distance of approximately two miles and a half, the said
Waimarino County Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of fivepence in the pound sterling on the rateable value
(on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable pro-
perty in the Parapara No. 4 Special Rating District, being
Sections A, B, and part of C of Mairekura Block, Makotuku
Survey District, and part Tataramoa Block No. 2 and A,
Makotuku Survey District; and that such special rate shall
be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is
fully paid off.

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.
CHARLES HAMILTON GOULD, M.B., B.S., Lond.,
M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., now residing at Christchurch,
hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 22nd September
next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of
the Dominion of New Zealand ; and that I have deposited
the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar
of Births and Deaths at Christchurch.

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members of
the Auckland Racing Club at a meeting held on the
4th day of August, 1919, at Auckland, with a recommenda-
tion by the Chairman of the Club, the Hon. E. Mitchelson,
that the same be passed at once with a view to their ap-
proval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming
Act, 1908, section 33.
The Hon. E. Mitchelson, the Chairman of the Club and the
Meeting, moved, and Mr. William C. Somers seconded, and it
was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and
that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authen-
tication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to :—

AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf con-
tained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other
powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Auck-
land Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the
said Act (hereinafter referred to as "the said club"), doth
hereby revoke the regulations dated the 7th day of August,
1916, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the following regu-
lations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the
club's property situated in the City of Auckland and Town
District of Ellerslie, and known as the Ellerslie Racecourse,
while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club
for race meetings.

  1. These regulations shall come into force on the date of
    the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.
  2. In these regulations the words "bookmaker," "racing
    club," and "race meeting" shall have the meanings ascribed
    to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act,
  3. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
    from the racecourse above described while the same is used
    or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely,—
    (a.) Bookmakers.
    (b.) Bookmakers' clerks, bookmakers' assistants, and book-
    makers' agents.
    (c.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any
    racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New
    Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or else-
    where, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing
    Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Associa-
    tion, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference.
    (d.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually con-
    sort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful
    visible means of support.
    (e.) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of house-break-
    ing or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or possessing
    counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, receiving
    stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or
    crime of any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908, and
    also idle and disorderly persons, rogues and vaga-
    bonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted under the
    Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons convicted of
    an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908.
    The foregoing regulations of the Auckland Racing Club
    were made and passed by the Auckland Racing Club on the
    4th day of August, 1919, and signed by the Chairman and
    Secretary.

WAIKOHU COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and the Public
Works Act, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Waikohu County
Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-
mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work ; and for
the purposes of such public work the lands described in the
Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is
hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to
be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the
said Council situated in Te Karaka, and is open for inspection
(without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of such land, who have any well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections
in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the
first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the
Council Chambers, Te Karaka.
