His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments and promotions of the undermentioned officers on active service with the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, vide List No. 91, N.Z. Expeditionary Force Orders.

COMMANDS AND STAFF.

Honorary Captain H. A. Sanders, discharged in England, is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 8th April, 1919.

Canterbury Mounted Rifles.

Lieutenant T. J. Denton ceases to be seconded for duty with the Royal Air Force. Dated 27th May, 1919.

N.Z. FIELD ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant L. J. Ivory, discharged in England, is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 29th May, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant (temp. Captain) E. J. Phillips to be Lieutenant, under provisions of N.Z. Expeditionary Force Regulation 13. Dated 16th May, 1919.

N.Z. ENGINEERS.

Field Companies.

Lieutenant D. Ross, M.M., discharged in England, is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 27th May, 1919.

ARMY POSTAL SERVICES.

2nd Lieutenant (temp. Captain) S. E. Oppenheim to be Lieutenant, under provisions of N.Z. Expeditionary Force Regulation 13. Dated 30th May, 1919.

Auckland Regiment.

The undermentioned to be Lieutenants, under provisions of N.Z. Expeditionary Force Regulation 13. Dated 27th May, 1919:

Major J. T. Watson, O.B.E., is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while holding the appointment of D.A.Q.M.G. (B), N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 1st May, 1919.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) E. J. F. Fraser relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain on ceasing to perform the duties of a Company Commander, Auckland Detachment, "A" Group, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, Sling. Dated 14th May, 1919.

Canterbury Regiment.

The undermentioned, discharged in England, are struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force:

Lieutenant J. D. Andrews. Dated 15th May, 1919.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) F. W. Wilson, M.C., relinquishes the appointment of A.D.C. to G.O.C., N.Z. Division, and Camp Commandant, N.Z. Divisional Headquarters, and the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 25th March, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant H. D. Burt, M.C., to be Lieutenant, under provisions of N.Z. Expeditionary Force Regulation 13. Dated 27th May, 1919.

Memorandum.

Lieutenant-Colonel H. Stewart, D.S.O., M.C., Commanded 2nd N.Z. Infantry Brigade during periods set out hereunder:

Major D. E. Bremner, M.C., N.Z.S.C., discharged in England, is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 31st March, 1919.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) T. M. Sim, M.C., relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 15th May, 1919.

Wellington Regiment.

2nd Lieutenant (temp. Captain) F. W. Baxter, discharged in England, is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 23rd May, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant P. T. Field to be Lieutenant, under provisions of N.Z. Expeditionary Force Regulation 13. Dated 27th May, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) P. R. Noseda is granted the temporary rank of Captain while employed as Transport Officer, Administrative Headquarters, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, London. Dated 1st May, 1919.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) T. H. Crawford, M.C., to England for demobilization, relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 25th March, 1919.

N.Z. RIFLE BRIGADE.

2nd Lieutenant W. J. Platt, discharged in England, is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 23rd May, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant D. George to be Lieutenant, under provisions of N.Z. Expeditionary Force Regulation 13. Dated 16th May, 1919.

N.Z. MACHINE-GUN CORPS.

Infantry Section.

Lieutenant A. B. Sands, discharged in England, is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 7th May, 1919.

Major W. I. K. Jennings, D.S.O., N.Z. Staff Corps, performed the duties of Staff Officer, "A" Group, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, Sling, from 17th April, 1919, to 1st May, 1919.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 88, of 17th July, 1919, relating to 2nd Lieutenant P. Kennedy is cancelled, and the following substituted:-

"2nd Lieutenant (temp. Captain) P. Kennedy relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain on ceasing to perform the duties of Quartermaster, Reserve Company. Dated 14th April, 1919."

N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS.

Lieutenant W. M. te Heu Heu, discharged in England, is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 24th May, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant W. Trembath, M.M., to be Lieutenant under provisions of N.Z. Expeditionary Force Regulation 13. Dated 16th May, 1919.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) J. H. Sharp, to England for demobilization, relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 25th March, 1919.

N.Z. DENTAL CORPS.

Captain R. O. Phillips, discharged in England, is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 31st May, 1919.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.

The undermentioned, discharged in England, are struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force from dates shown:-

Lieutenant E. Stewart is granted the temporary rank of Captain while acting as Officer in Charge, Audit Section, Headquarters, N.Z. Expeditionary Force, London, vice Major F. Prideaux, to Egypt for duty. Dated 21st May, 1919.

Staff Corps, the Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, N.Z. Army Pay Department, and Territorial Forces; and the reposting of officers from the N.Z. Expeditionary Force to the N.Z. Staff Corps and Territorial Force.

APPOINTMENTS.

Lieutenant-Colonel Frank Symon, C.M.G., D.S.O., the Regi-ment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, is appointed Staff Officer for Field Artillery, Canterbury Military District. Dated 1st August, 1919.
