ROYAL SOVEREIGN LIGHT-VESSEL.—BUOY MARKING WRECK SOUTHWARD OF, REPLACED BY LIGHT-BUOY.
Position.—In the position of the buoy which it replaces on the northern side of the wreck situated at a distance of about 1½ miles southward from the Royal Sovereign Light-vessel. Lat. 50° 41¼' N., long. 0° 27¼' E.
Description.—A can light-buoy, painted in black and white vertical stripes, exhibiting a flashing white light every ten seconds.
EAST COAST.—RIVER HUMBER APPROACH.—RACE BANK.—OBSTRUCTION REPORTED WESTWARD OF.
Position (approximate).—At a distance of about 2½ miles westward from the southern end of the north-western ridge of Race Bank. Lat. 53° 12' 5" N., long. 0° 47' 5" E.
_Details.—_A steamer drawing about 28 ft. is reported to have touched a submerged obstruction in the above position.
Note.—The position on the charts is to be surrounded by a danger line and marked “Obstruction (1918), (posn. approx.).”
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
DELAWARE.—SEA-COAST.—FENWICK ISLAND SHOAL LIGHT-VESSEL (RELIEF).—CHARACTERISTIC OF LIGHTS.
The relief light-vessel temporarily marking the Fenwick Island Shoal Station shows 1 fixed red light and 1 fixed white light. When the station vessel is returned to the station, about 7th December, 1918, she will show 1 group flashing white light of 490 candle-power every 12 seconds—thus, flash 1 second, eclipse 1 second; flash 1 second, eclipse 1 second; flash 1 second, eclipse 7 seconds.
Approx. position : 38° 26' 28" N., 74° 46' W.
INDIA.
EAST COAST.—GOPALPORE.—BAY OF BENGAL.—ALTERATION IN CHARACTER OF LIGHT.
With reference to Notice to Mariners dated 1st August, 1918, the alteration therein notified to take place on the 15th October, 1918, is postponed to the 15th December, 1918.
JAVA.
NORTH COAST.—SEMARANG BAY.—ALTERATION IN COLOUR OF LIGHTS.
(a.) Eastern Pier light:
Position.—At the outer end of the eastern mole. Lat. 6° 56¾' S., long. 110° 24¼' E.
New Abridged Description.—Lt. F., red.
Alteration.—The colour of this fixed light has been altered from green to red.
(b.) Western Pier light:
Position.—At the outer end of the old head of the western mole.
New Abridged Description.—Lt. F., green.
Alteration.—The colour of this fixed light has been altered from red to green.
SUMATRA.
WEST COAST.—ENGANO ISLAND.—ENGANO BAY APPROACH.—BREAKERS REPORTED.
Position.—At a distance of about 2 miles south-eastward from the entrance to Engano Bay. Lat. 5° 30' S., long. 102° 25' E.
Details.—A line of heavy breakers, approximately one mile in length, has been reported in the position given above.
Note.—A danger line with the note “Breakers repd., 1918,” is to be inserted on the chart in the above position.
VICTORIA.
ALTERATIONS TO LIGHTS, WEST CHANNEL, PORT PHILLIP.
Mariners and others are hereby notified that on or about the 15th November, 1918, the following alterations will be made in the lighting of No. 2 Royal George and No. 12 buoys in the West Channel, Port Phillip:—
No. 2 Royal George.
The present flashing red light will be altered to a flashing green light with the same period of flash and eclipse as at present.
No. 12 Buoy, West Channel.
The present double-flashing white light will be altered to a single-flashing red light showing a short flash every six seconds.
