THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
[No. 10
of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand
Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be
under the control of the Hutt County Council, and shall be
maintained by the said Council in like manner as other
public highways are controlled and maintained by the said
Council.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 3 roods 12·9 perches.
Portion of railway reserve (cart Section 96), Block I, Rimutaka Survey District, Hutt County. (S.O. 859.)
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 17980,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at
Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Proclaiming Native Land to be Crown Land under Section 14
of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section fourteen of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1914, it is provided, inter alia,
that on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land
has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under
the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, the Governor-
General may issue a Proclamation that such land has become
Crown land:
And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in
the Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf
of the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act,
1909:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority so conferred upon me by section fourteen of
the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, Arthur William
de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land
set out in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land.

HARATAUNGA EAST No. 1B No. 1 Block: Approximate area,
197 acres 2 roods; Coromandel Survey District.

Prison proclaimed.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New
Zealand intituled the Prisons Act, 1908, it is pro-
vided that the Governor-General may, by Proclamation pub-
lished in the Gazette, declare any house, building, enclosure,
or place to be a prison; and from and after the gazetting of
any such Proclamation, or from any time later specified in
the Proclamation, such house, building, enclosure, or place
shall be deemed a prison:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and autho-
rity, do hereby declare that the buildings and huts situated
on the area of land described in the Schedule hereto, and all
enclosures used or occupied therewith, shall, from and after
the date of the publication of this Proclamation in the Gazette,
be a prison known as the Roto-aira Prison No. 3, within the
meaning and for the purposes of the Prisons Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 150 acres, more or less, being part of Okahukura Block and part of the State forest reserve as described
in New Zealand Gazette No. 5, of the 18th January, 1900,
page 104. Bounded towards the north-east by a right line
commencing at a point on the right bank of the Tawhitikuri
Stream, and running thence parallel to the north-eastern
boundary-line of the State forest reserve aforesaid to the
northern side of the Roto-aira Road where it is intersected
by the left bank of the Mangatepopo Stream; thence towards
the south-east by the northern side of the said road to its
intersection with the right bank of the Tawhitikuri Stream
aforesaid; and thence towards the west by the right bank of
the last-mentioned stream to the place of commencement.
As the same is delineated on the plan marked P.D. 1918/9/7,
deposited in the office of the Permanent Head of the Prisons
Department at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur
William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby,
with the consents of the owners and mortgagees of the land
described in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Masterton
County Council, being the local authority in whose district
the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in
Kopouranga Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as
aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the
Second Schedule hereto.
