“That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a further loan of £190, being 10 per centum additional on the original loan of £1,900, authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of erecting a bridge over the Rangitikei River at Toe Toe, and acquiring, fencing, and constructing a new road through the Awarua Block 1A No. 2 East, Lot 1, the said Rangitikei County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two twenty-fifths of a penny (2/25d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Toe Toe Bridge Special-rating District, comprising—

As the said special-rating district is more particularly shown upon the map attached to the ratepayers’ consent to the said loan of £1,900, and thereon bordered red; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan of £190, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off, and shall be in addition to the special rate of four-fifths of a penny (4/5d.) made in respect of the said original loan of £1,900.”
I, Bennet Perry Lethbridge, Chairman of the Rangitikei County Council, do hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a special meeting of the Rangitikei County Council held on the 19th day of December, 1918.

NOTICE is hereby given that the poll taken on the 24th December, 1918, at the office of the Clerk, Mr. Stanley G. Chambers, 106 Victoria Arcade, Auckland, on the proposal that henceforth the system of rating property on the basis of the unimproved value thereof be adopted in the Waiatarua Drainage Board District resulted as follows :—

I therefore hereby declare that the proposal is carried.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Whangarei County Council propose, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain work—to wit, the construction of a road in the Otakairangi Parish, in the County of Whangarei—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the Whangarei County Council, Bank Street, Whangarei, and is there open for inspection. And notice is also hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said work, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Clerk of the Whangarei County Council, Bank Street, Whangarei.

MANGAPIKO RIDING 10-PER-CENT. ADDITIONAL LOAN OF £300.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 18 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waipa County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £300 authorized to be raised for the purpose of completing the work for which the original sum of £3,000 was borrowed—viz., metalling roads in the Mangapiko Riding for the first time—the said Waipa County Council makes and levies a special rate of 1/80d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Mangapiko Riding; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above resolution was made at a properly constituted meeting of the Waipa County Council held at Ohaupo on the 17th day of December, 1918.
