(i.) Disobeys the rules of the hospital, convalescent home,
or other institution, or the orders of any Medical
Superintendent :
(j.) Is in possession of any liquor on a railway train :
(k.) Becomes intoxicated :
(l.) Disobeys any lawful command given by his superior
officer :
(m.) Is guilty of misconduct by means of which he pro-
duces or aggravates, or is likely to produce or
aggravate, any disease or infirmity, or delays or is
likely to delay its cure :
(n.) Is guilty of any conduct to the prejudice of good
order and military discipline.
5. For the purpose of the last preceding regulation and
without prejudice to the generality thereof a soldier shall
be deemed to be guilty of the offence of absence without
leave who commits any of the following acts :—
(a.) Fails to notify his address or any change in his address
to the Director of Base Records, or leaves the
address recorded on his papers at Base Records
without permission from the Director of Base
Records :
(b.) Fails to report at the nearest Defence Office for instruc-
tions on the termination of current certificate if
prior to the date of termination of current certificate
he has not been ordered to attend a Medical Board
or has not received any further certificate of status
from the Director of Base Records :
(c.) Fails to attend or report himself when ordered at a
Medical Board, at a hospital, convalescent home,
or other institution, or at any other place where
he may be ordered to be :
(d.) Fails to appear at the place of parade or rendezvous
appointed, or goes from thence without leave from
his superior officer.
6. The summary jurisdiction of Commanding Officers is
hereby extended so that they are empowered to impose fines
not exceeding £2 in dealing summarily with offences under
these regulations, and such fines shall be deducted from the
pay of the soldier adjudged guilty of any such offence, in
addition to any forfeiture of pay which may have been in
arrear through the soldier's absence from duty.
7. Nothing in these regulations shall in any manner restrict
or take away the liability of a soldier under the Army Act,
or under any other regulations under the Defence Act, 1909,
save that no soldier shall be punished twice for the same
offence.
