mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, provided that the rate of interest at which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no case produce to the lender a return exceeding five and one-quarter pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the roads described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become Government roads.

Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Lands other than Alienations in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this thirtieth day of December, 1918.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, and by section one hundred and eleven of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913 (as amended by section eight of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of eighteen months the Order in Council dated the sixth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and gazetted the ninth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, prohibiting all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.
