Land proclaimed as a Road, and Road closed, in Blocks XVIII, XIV, IX, XIX, and XXIII, Avon Survey District, Wairau Road District, Marlborough County.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of the owner and mortgagee of the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Wairau Road Board, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Avon Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the road described in the First Schedule hereto.

All situated in Avon Survey District (Marlborough R.D.). All in the Marlborough Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 43772, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities from the State Advances Office.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this second day of July, 1918.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf), whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council:
And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set opposite the names of the said local authorities respectively, for the several purposes specified in the said Schedule, from the State Advances Office:
And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing from the State Advances Office of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto for the purposes specified in the said Schedule. And it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.
SCHEDULE.
Cook County Council, £2,000: For metalling a portion of the Gisborne-Wairoa Road.
Eltham County Council, £4,000: For forming and metalling a portion of the Fraser Road in the South Riding.
Franklin County Council, £500: For constructing a road known as the Tuakau-Razorback Road.
Porangahau Road Board, £900: For constructing a bridge.
Waikohu County Council, £1,000: For constructing a bridge.
Waikohu County Council, £2,400: For metalling Kanakanaia Road.
Waikohu County Council, £1,000: For constructing a bridge.
Waitemata County Council, £1,000: For constructing sanitary works.
