  1. Every person who commits a breach of any of these by-laws shall, upon conviction, be liable to a penalty not exceeding £5 for every such breach.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 85 acres 3 roods 13 perches, more or less, being portion of North Rotorua Scenic Reserve, Section 12, Block V, Rotoiti Survey District, commencing at the north-east corner of Section 8, subdivision of Section 12, Block V, Rotoiti Survey District. Bounded towards the north by part of Section 12 aforesaid; towards the east generally by a public road, the crossing of that road, and again by the said road, and by a stream forming the western boundary of Mangorewa-Kaharoa No. 7 Block to its confluence with the Hamurana Stream; thence by the last-mentioned stream to a public road along the shore of Lake Rotorua; towards the south generally by a public road; and towards the west by Section 8, subdivision of Section 12, Block V, Rotoiti Survey District aforesaid, to the point of commencement: save and excepting a public road 100 links wide intersecting the before-described land. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 475/6, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities from the State Advances Office.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this eighteenth day of June, 1918.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf), whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council:

And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set opposite the names of the said local authorities respectively, for the several purposes specified in the said Schedule, from the State Advances Office:

And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing from the State Advances Office of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto for the purposes specified in the said Schedule. And it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.


SCHEDULE.

KAITIEKE County Council, £500: For forming and culverting a portion of the Wanganui River Road.

Mangaorongo Road Board, £3,000: For metalling the main road.

Oaonui Irrigation Board, £2,500: For constructing irrigation-works.

Piako County Council, £2,000: For metalling Seddon Road and the Waitoa-Matamata Road.

Waimate West County Council, £5,000: For road and bridge construction works.

Waitemata County Council, £375: For completing the construction of roads in the Pukeatua Riding.

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, provided that the rate of interest at which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no case produce to the lender a return exceeding five and one-quarter pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.

Consenting to Stopping Portion of a Road in Block II, Tokatoka Survey District, Hobson County.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of June, 1918.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three (a) of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that a local authority shall not declare any county road or district road to be stopped until the consent thereto of the Governor-General, by Order in Council gazetted, is obtained:

And whereas the Hobson County Council has applied for such consent in respect of the road described in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Hobson County County stopping the road described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road permitted to be stopped: 3 roods 26 perches.

Adjoining or passing through Sections 48, 50, and 51A, Arapohue Parish, Block II, Tokatoka Survey District. (S.O. 19673.)

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 44078, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.
