Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps, Royal New Zealand Artillery, and Territorial Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Staff Corps, Royal N.Z. Artillery, and Territorial Force.

APPOINTMENTS.

Captain Ferdinand August Wood, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, is confirmed in the appointment of Mounted Rifle Instructor, Featherston Camp.

The undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Medical Corps are appointed members of the C2 Re-examination Board, under the provisions of the Military Service Act, 1915 :—

Lieutenant-Colonel Sidney Alfred Gibbs, M.B. Dated 27th April, 1918.

Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) Henry Ferdinand Bernau, M.R.C.S. Dated 7th May, 1918.

Captain Robert Bernard Pearson Monson, M.B. Dated 2nd May, 1918.

Captain Edward Henry Scott, M.B. Dated 3rd May, 1918.

Captain (temp.) William Bracewell Mercer, M.B. Dated 27th April, 1918.

Captain (temp.) Thomas Noel Usher, L.R.C.P., Edin. Dated 6th May, 1918.

Captain (temp.) Louis Levy, M.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, is appointed a member of a Special District Medical Board. Dated 21st May, 1918.

Captain Percy St. John Keenan, N.Z. Railway Battalion, relinquishes the appointment of Staff Officer to Director of Railway Transport, and ceases to be seconded. Dated 5th June, 1918.

PROMOTIONS, RESIGNATIONS, AND TRANSFERS.

THE REGIMENT OF ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Captain Francis Gustavus Hume to command the regiment temporarily, vice Major Sydney George Sandle, proceeding on active service, and is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst so employed. Dated 13th June, 1918.

3RD (AUCKLAND) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Sergeant Ernest Dawson Wilkinson to be 2nd Lieutenant, supernumerary to Establishment. Dated 25th May, 1918.

4TH (WAIKATO) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Quartermaster-Sergeant William John Foster to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 6th November, 1914.

11TH (NORTH AUCKLAND) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant Richard Feaver to be Captain. Dated 29th May, 1918.

NEW ZEALAND FIELD ARTILLERY.

Canterbury Brigade Ammunition Column.

Captain Robert Charles Wickens is transferred to E Battery. Dated 16th May, 1918.

E Battery.

Captain Robert Charles Wickens, from the Canterbury Brigade Ammunition Column, to be Captain. Dated 16th May, 1918.

Lieutenant William John Baxter, G Battery, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 24th May, 1918.


N.Z. GARRISON ARTILLERY.

Auckland G.A. Division.

Lieutenant Albert James Marshall to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 26th September, 1917.

The commission granted Lieutenant Werner Eugene Langguth is cancelled, under section 5A of the Defence Act, 1909. Dated 21st May, 1918.

CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS.

No. 3 Field Company (Auckland).

Sergeant Henry Masterton Clark to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 1st December, 1914.

Company Sergeant-Major Frank George Ashley to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 24th May, 1918.

Sergeant Fritz Graham Jackson to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 24th May, 1918.

Captain Walter Edgar Graham Richardson is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 25th May, 1918.

10TH (NORTH OTAGO) REGIMENT.

Captain Alexander Hoggans is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 9th June, 1918, and is absorbed into the regiment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Lieutenant, as from 4th December, 1913 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 14, of the 26th February, 1914).

11TH REGIMENT (TARANAKI RIFLES).

Sergeant Ernest Roy Coutts to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 29th May, 1918.

N.Z. RIFLE BRIGADE.

Earl of Liverpool’s Own (Territorial).

2nd Lieutenant Stephen Maundrell Hobbs is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 22nd May, 1918, and is posted to the regiment with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 13th January, 1917.

N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS.

No. 4 Company (Wellington).

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) Alexander Redpath to be Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 28th May, 1918.

N.Z. FORCES MOTOR SERVICE CORPS.
