Result of Election of a Member of the Greymouth Fire Board by Fire-insurance Companies.

THE following result of the election of a member of the Greymouth Fire Board by fire-insurance companies has been reported to the Minister of Internal Affairs, and is notified in accordance with the rules made under the Fire Brigades Act, 1908.

Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-law.— Whakatane County Council.
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 11th June, 1918.
IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 107 of the Counties Act, 1908, that so much of the by-law made by the Whakatane County Council, and sealed on the 17th day of May, 1918, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Whakatane County funds for the licensing of vehicles plying for hire has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.

Hawke’s Bay Rivers Amendment Act, 1917.—Decisions of Commissioners appointed to consider and determine Questions set out in Section 3 thereof.

THE Commissioners appointed under the Hawke’s Bay Rivers Amendment Act, 1917, for the purpose of inquiring into and determining the questions set out in subsection (1) of section 3 of the said Act and in their warrant of appointment having, pursuant to subsection (5) of the said section, reported to the Governor-General their decisions touching the several questions referred to them, the said decisions are hereby published for general information, as provided by the said subsection (5).

HAWKE’S BAY RIVERS COMMISSION.
QUESTION.—The first question is:
“(a.) Whether any, and if any, then what, areas shall be added to or excluded from the Hawke’s Bay Rivers District.”
DECISION.—We are of opinion that there should be added to the Hawke’s Bay Rivers District the following areas, namely :—
(A.) Te Mata Area.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing 1,000 acres, more or less, being part of Block 9, Te Mata Crown-grant District, bounded by a line commencing at a point where the south-eastern boundary of Mangateretere East Block meets Danver’s Creek; thence proceeding north-easterly and south-easterly along the old boundary of the district as described in Act, 1910, No. 30, First Schedule, to the centre of the old Tukituki River; thence up the centre of the old Tukituki River about two miles to a road reserve; thence along that reserve to the road forming the eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, and 3; thence along the eastern side of that road and the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 18, 4, 3, and 2 to the north-eastern corner of the last-named; thence north-westerly along a right line to a point on the eastern side of Mangateretere Road opposite the north-eastern corner of Lot 35; thence across that road and along the north-western boundaries of Lots 35 and 36 to a public road forming the south-western boundaries of Lots 36, 38, and 40; thence south-easterly and south-westerly along said road to Mangateretere Stream; thence down that stream to the drain between Lots 22 and 23; thence along that drain to its continuation to and down Danver’s Creek to the point of commencement.
(B.) Part Borough of Napier.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing 160 acres, more or less, being part of the Borough of Napier, bounded by a line commencing at a point being the western extremity of Carlyle Street; thence along the south side of Carlyle Street to and across the road on the eastern side of Clive Square; thence north-westerly along the eastern side
