Appointment of Representatives to Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint, under section 15 of the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, representatives to Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards as set out in the Schedule hereunder.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Special Loan of £3,000 for Purpose of Supplying Water to Part of District, as defined in previous Advertisements.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, notice is hereby given that the following is the result of the poll taken on the proposal mentioned above, on Wednesday, 9th January, 1918.

Total number of valid votes recorded, 99: For the proposal, 83; against the proposal, 16; informal votes, 1.

I therefore declare the proposal duly carried.

THE following certificate and declaration are published in conformity with the provisions of the Crimes Act, 1908.

CERTIFICATE.

I, Hamilton A. H. Gilmer, the Medical Officer in attendance at the execution of Frank Edward Bennier at the Prison of Wellington, do hereby certify and declare that I have this day witnessed the execution of the said Frank Edward Bennier at the said prison, and I do further certify and declare that the said Frank Edward Bennier was, in pursuance of the sentence of the Supreme Court, hanged by the neck until his body was dead.

Given under my hand this 19th day of January, 1918, at the Prison at Wellington.

DECLARATION.

We do hereby testify and declare that we have this day been present when the extreme penalty of the law was carried into execution on the body of Frank Edward Bennier, convicted at the criminal sittings of the Supreme Court held at Wanganui on the 26th day of November last, and sentenced to death; and that the said Frank Edward Bennier was, in pursuance of the said sentence, hanged by the neck until his body was dead.
