said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act, control of such domain:

And whereas by an Order in Council made on the nineteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and ten, a Domain Board was appointed to control the Little River Domain:

And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen:

And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the domain:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

to be the Little River Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Tuesday, the fifth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, at eleven o’clock a.m., as the time when, and the Wairewa County Office, Little River, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

LITTLE RIVER DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 3 roods 12·4 perches, being part of Lot 4, Block III, of Native Reserve 887, situated in Blocks XIII, Pigeon Bay, and II, Akaroa Survey Districts, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-east by Lot 3B of Block III of Native Reserve 887, 861·8 links; towards the south-east by the main road to Akaroa, 679·2 links and 409·8 links; towards the south-west by other part of the said Lot 4, 392·3 links; and towards the north-west by Western Valley Road, 1073·4 links and 39·7 links.

Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods 6 perches, being Reserve 3729 (formerly Lot 32, Morice Settlement), situated in Block XIII, Pigeon Bay Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-east by Bolton Street, 871·2 links; towards the south-east by the road and railway reserve, 427·4 links; towards the south-west by Fleet Street, 804·2 links; and towards the north-west by Valley Road, 411·1 links.

Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 62 acres 2 roods, being Reserve 1649, situated in Block XIII, Pigeon Bay Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-east by Reserve 935, 4000 links; towards the south-east by Sections 19397 and 31132, 1695·9 links; towards the south-west generally by Sections 31132 and 30378, 1812 links, by Section 20137, 422 links, 1251·1 links, and 422 links, and by a public road, 937 links; and towards the north-west by Lots 1, 35, and 9 of Reserves 220, 221, and 222, 1683·7 links.

As the same are delineated on the plans marked L. and S. 1/204 A, B, and C, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Notifying Lands in Otago Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the thirteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—LAKE COUNTY.—TOWN OF ARROWTOWN EXTENSION.

Suburban Land.

SECTION 1, Block XXXV: Area, 4 acres 2 roods 16 perches; capital value, £10; half-yearly rental, 4s.

Weighted with £4, valuation for fencing.

Situated within the Borough of Arrowtown, on the bank of the Arrow River, about three miles from the post-office by a good road. The land is fairly level. The soil is of a light-sandy nature on a rock formation.

Section 2, Block XXXV: Area, 4 acres 2 roods 38 perches; capital value, £15; half-yearly rent, 6s.

Weighted with £5, valuation for two-roomed house.

Situated in the Borough of Arrowtown, on the bank of the Arrow River, about three miles from the post-office. Good road access. More than half the area is good land; balance poor and stony. Soil a light loam, on schist formation; not well watered.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this eighteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Opening Lands in Otago Land District for Sale or Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the eleventh day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and amendments.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Taieri County.—Lee Stream Survey District.

SECTION 11, Block VI: Area, 83 acres 1 rood 18 perches. Capital value, £170. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £4 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 8s.

Open, undulating land, swampy in places. The soil is a black loam on a clay formation. Watered by springs. Altitude, 1,600 ft. to 1,700 ft. above sea-level. Situated on the road between Lee Stream and Deep Stream, about fifteen miles from Outram Railway-station.

Clutha County.—Warepa Survey District.

Section 2 of 6 and 7, Block III: Area, 304 acres 0 roods 33 perches. Capital value, £310. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £7 15s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £6 4s.

The sections consist of steep spurs covered with tussock, the higher parts carrying snow tussock. The soil is a light
